can a 2000 fe501e be modified to become a 380?
parts? costs? concerns?
thanks
tuts

whato mate!

i can kybosh that one fairl

a 501 has a 95 bore and 70 stroke
an old 400 like mine has a 92 bore and 60 stroke
a modern 450 has a 100 bore and a 57 stroke

to make the 380 they kept the 450 bottom end ( the 57 stroke) and put my OLD 400 piston on it (the 92 bore). so you neither have the right bore or stroke. it's just not worth it mate!

regards

Taffy

Is it also this same 380 kit that converts a 550 to a 496?

Scott you are correct.

MOTORKIT 380
fits on FE 450E, FS 450E/C, FC 450, 2001-2007
Retailprice in Austria(including 20% tax) is 777,60,- €uros

just look for a Dealerwith a "Force Depot"- online shop, the kit is shown there

We can supply a 380 kit at £437.31 plus shipping. We have them in stock and have converted dozens of these and everybody loves them, especially riders who have had 250Fs and want abike with more power but you don't need to rev all day long.

Thank You for the responses and e-mail's, however I am gonna have to wait a whistle; Our cute little currency this side makes it quite an expensive exercise, I will be saving up and in contact in a month or so as I need this before our "roof of Africa".

Is any body thinking of joing us here in South Africa for this race?

Thank You
