HELLO FROM GUY AT GEE-BEE RACING !

I SPOKE WITH CLARKE MFG ON SOME A FUEL TANK FOR THE 04 AND LATER BERG'S

IF WE CAN GET SOME MEMBERS TO REQUEST A SOME TANKS , WE CAN GET THEM TO TOOL, GO TO CLARKEMFG.COM OR CALL 503-829-2156
ATT: JANICE

I INFORMED THEM I WOULD BE HAPPY TP PROVIDE THEM A BIKE FOR TOOLING, WE COULD GET FUEL TANKS IN 3.0 OPR 3.2 GALLON

I HAVE A 06 FE650 ON ORDER , AND I KNOW WE WOULD SEE MORE DESERT RACERS ON THESE BIKES WITH THE INCREASED FUEL CAP.

REGARDS GEE-BEE

P.S. YOU WILL SEE RE-USABLE SILICONE VALVE COVER GASKETS FROM US IN THE FUTURE

hello guy

we have tried very, very hard to get numbers up to have some tanks made. clarke told me via e-maiul that he was too busy and i thinbk IMG want a minimum order of 500.

i think we've beaten that one to death and i'm sure that someone will come along behind me and give you a link to a huge thread we did on this subject.

thanks from everyone here though.

regards

taffy

WHEN I TALKED TO THEM THE SAID 200 TANKS , SURELY WE CAN START A GROUP BUY AND GO FROM THERE ........

I REALLY DONT THINK THAT CLARKE WOULD WANT THAT MANY...

I WOULD START A P.O. WITH THEM IF WE COULD GET SOME #'S

I WOULD TELEMARKET OTHER CLARKE/ HUSABERG DEALERS , I'AM SURE WE COULD GET DEALERS TO BUY AT LEAST TWO TANKS FOR THERE SHOWROOM'S

I WONT GIVE UP THIS EASY............

Clarke will make a tank for the 2005-2006 FSE450 but won't make one to fit all Husaberg's 2001-2005 as they all use the same tank. The 2000 tank is probably the same too except for the hideous blue color.
I don't get it

As Taffy said this has been tried already but good luck and count me in if you can pull it off.

Hi GEE-BEE I would want tank that size but a tank that sits like a basketball betwen your legs or crowding the radiator like stock tank its not
a tank that I would not want a tank like that The new 06 tank seems to be
better around radiator but from the looks of it be a little girthy it would be
nice if there where a mock up of the tank
VIKING

I too am waiting on an 06 650. A big tank would be an excellent accessory for it or any berg. I will take one.

clarke tanks

:D HEY PEOPLE,just talked to clarke today about big tanks for berg's
told them i would deliver a bike for as long as needed, they were
interested. So at this weeks dealer meeting i will try some tactic's
whith the man! Also she told me the more call's they get on the
subject the more likely they are to build a tank.

SO PLEASE EVERYONE WHO READ'S THIS THREAD WOULD
YOU CALL THIS NUMBER SHOWING INTREST!!
(503) 829-2156

THANK'S TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called and their hours are 7:00am-3:00pm Pacific Standard Time (they are closed as of this posting time).

Lets blow up their phone system tomorrow with requests for a tank. This may be our big chance.

After you call post a blurb here.

With Boss'es help maybe we will finally get our tank :)

i think you need to find all the old threads about this topic and PM everyone who said that they would take a tank. someone needs to do the hard yards. me? i won't be needing one.

Taffy

Okay,

I just called clarke and he didn't seem too sure about the 200 min order, but, I did let him know that I would want at lest one tank for my two Husaberg's.

I also called Mr. Bozarth and let him know the same. For most of all of my races I would still use my stock 2.4 tank as it will get me to any pit that I have experienced so far in my 24 years of desert racing. However, I would definitely want a 3 gallon for my trail rides which make up about 2/3 of my total riding miles, or perhaps a race in an unfamiliar area. I usually average about 35mpg on my trail rides which would give me a 105 mile range. And not much less during most races.

I think the extra volume could easily be had my making the shrouds carry gas like the Katoom's, if I'm not mistaken the Katooms are 3.4 which are 13L. So, if we could get an additional 2 litres that would be great

Just called Clarke and told them to put me on the Husaberg tank list.

Call now or forever hold your peace.

I contacted Clarke to put my name on the list for the Husaberg tank WHEN they are available. I think the big tank would be a big help on those longer trail rides in the desert of eastern Oregon

Any news from Clarke? I think we need everyone who is interested to contact Clarke right away. I agree that if we flood them with calls they will be more inclined to go forward. So come on everybody call Clarke. At least we will have one aftermarket item for a Berg. It seems the aftermarket is extremely limited for these bikes.

Just added my name via email to the "want a tank or three list".

Okay, here's the scoop. Calling up Clarke and bugging them isn't going to help your cause. Besides, they would sense somethings up. They are already researching the subject. They also want a look at the 06 as it's suppose to be a little different in the shrouds and venting system according to sources. Clarke did do a couple of tanks for Gas Gas which at the time the subject original came up, was thought to be a low volume deal like a TM or a VOR. Gas Gas contacted Clarke directly and even provided them with the bikes to work. It turned out to be a good thing overall for Clarke and Gas Gas. Maybe the call should come from somebody like Husaberg or Husaberg North America instead of Joe H. Rider. This is not to imply the the fine people at Clarke are snobs or don't care, they really do care about everyone and do try to please all they can. It comes down to a sound business decision question, will sales back up the cost of R&D and mold production? One thing they can't seem to find is production numbers on how many bikes were built since 2000. This number alone could sway the decision making.
Just my 2 cents.

lads! lads! lads!

i don't want to piss on your camp fire but i think it's agreed now that you aren't going to get enough interest for this. i'm only the messenger so please don't shoot me.

BUT, BUT, BUT!!!

if you jet the bikes correctly you can double the fuel consumption.

if i was to sheck the archives i can find a race back three or four years ago where, in the afternoon i ran out of fuel. the race was a 2 + 2. now maybe the americans can add here but that means that i ran out of fuel in less than 2-hours.

three weeks ago on sunday i raced for 4-hours on a tank that i have melted aand now only holds 7.5-8 litres.

now is there something about this you don't get?

so come on!

if i can double my economy YOU don't need a huge fuel tank! so get with the programme and get that jetting right!

what i had was a dell orto 38mm carb in a standard engine and 14/48 gearing.

what i have now is a lineaweaver cam, an FCR carb, advanced ignition, an open pipe and ported head and 14/51.

the difference? all the bits gave more power and allow me to ride on a smaller throttle setting but if i was to name the parts that made the biggest difference i would have to say the cam and the carb.

so remember

RACING. 4-HOURS. 7.5 LITRE TANK.

now what don't you understand about this?

"the standard tank is good for well over 4-hours if jetted correctly!

Taffy
