I'm referencing clbuff's post in "Vapor lock on 2010 390" What other bikes that KTM produces use Chinese fuel pumps?? Does anybody know?? Has anybody else seem the Made In China stamp on their Husaberg fuel pumps?

KTM has been caught out here being tight budgeted

for an extra 5C they could have bought the pumps made in china but without the "made in china" print.

really I think the pump is likely part of the EFI package as sourced through the EFI Mnfr which is supposedly a "japanese" company. Id bet a small bottle of rum though that most of the EFI components on all of the dirbikes are sourced indirectly through china.

there was a provence in taiwan years ago that changed its name to U.S.A so they could print made in U.S.A on their stuff

Yes, nicely printed with " Made in China" on mine like it was a good thing, I wanted to kill and burn when I saw the rusty Fing mess come out, lower part of the outer body rusting away, spring clip inside that holds the bottom strainer on heavily rusted hopefully the in line filter has got most of that crud. Musts say expected a lot more.

Clver little buggers !

I remember a company in Perth that had a big sign out front that said "Half price Lattice" I stopped and then looked at the prices and told the bloke this was the same price as everywhere else, where's the half price stuff ?
He then said, 'It's just the name on my business" It worked !!

Hello all. I have a 2010 450 with 70 d tank, exhaust wrap, silver stuff on the tank, upgraded filters on the filler and the pump inlet. Last week the bike puttered to a stop two days in a row when I was closing a gate and yesterday it came to a halt three times while I was riding it. Left if for a bit and it started but not much confidence now. Checked the tank and inlet filter, all fine. Dealer suggested kill switch and then check the pump but not so easy when he is 1000 kms away. Any one know of a check for the pump?

I can hear my fuel pump everytime I hit the starter. When I was having issues with my fuel pump, I'd hit the starter and the pump wasn't spinning up. When you had the pump out of the tank, did you make sure all the connections are tight to the pump?

My problem, ultimately was solved with a new fuel pump. Mine never died while riding. Only after shutting it off and trying to restart while warm.

I checked the pump end connections but not the other end. It is starting ok but will go further if it continues. A gauge is around $300 here.

Thanks for the lead bushie but the bike still has some warranty left so have sent it down to Brisbane today. All very disappointing.
Regards mulga1
