KTM parts that swap to pre 2000 husabergs

I am impressed with Your work. Makes Me want clean up My Husqvarnas don't think I can as good a job as You have.....

Rainero I appreciate the complement. I just wish Clark ,Acerbis,Polisport, Meiher or some other aftermarket plastics company would put out plastics for the old bergs. I hate to resort to the vinyl wrap but is a better solution than paint.
I don't think the blue tanks would refresh with the sanding or flame techniques.
Next up is check the valve settings, timing and then electrics.

Anybody.... Try frame mods to 2000 and up plastics. Air filter seems like an issue?
I'll post updates as I move forward.
My signature has a link showing my last project a 1988 KTM 500 with 2008 CRF front end. It will be interesting to compare the power characteristics of the two bikes.Thump...Thump....Thump vs Big Braaaap.:)

Speaking of old plastics, did you get new fork guards, or polish up your old ones? If new, from where?

Thanks :)

Did you get the fork leg protectors? Web link suggests they're for 40 mm forks, the ones I need are for the WP Extreme 50 mm ones. And my Italian is of course non existent.

The fork protectors in only for 40mm 1989-1996

For 50mm is hard to get, i have one pair of Nos 1997 in neon yellow

I have an OK pair on my '98, but am looking for anotehr st for a different project.

Thanks ;)

FYI the Marzocchi 50mm Magnum fork guards are what I used. Old KTM 2-strokes had these forks.I did have to use a heat gun to stretch these however. Seem to be one of the only new old style guards available. Wanted blue but these will do.
They also bolted up to the fork brace I've added. I need to check my front fender clearance when bottomed out to see if the brace and the fender will meet!
