KTM crossrefrence

ok peds

as you asked so nicely, i made an effort to raise first one eyebrow, then the other, and then both! big effort!

26th jan, maddel responded to me and i've been such a BUM ever since and not even opened his mail.

so this is how it starts and how it goes.

you can go into the doc and into "useful parts and non-oem equipment";
http://www.husaberg.org:80/wiki/index.p ... _equipment

and there is now a link to an excel spreadsheet that ANYONE can now download. if you see something you can help with and do in a responsible way we would love you to do it. maybe you can do all your changes with a star next to it. so a new part number and suffix would start with "* sprague for 350.......".

you then send a copy to myself and i check it for basic errors like deleting 75 part codes but adding just the one!!!! the usual shinola.

i will then get it put up on the useful parts page again.

now for those that don't know, when i did the doc i roughed it at the beginning but GOT IT OUT THERE and then refined it as we went. unlike the doc though i am already totally uninspired by this one. so look for it to fail unless people are prepared to add to it.

a problem i've spotted already is that i started descriptions with "95mm piston for 501" when it should have started "piston. 95mm. all 501s 1994>"

also the programme is wrong when you get the chance to A-Z a list of part numbers! not good although understandable!

so if you want to have a go then do, work on it at home for a few days and then send it in!

my email address is davidlloyd102 at waitrose.com ok? i haven't put the email address here coz spammers may hook into it....

Hi Taffy,

Sorry about dropping off the face of the planet for a few weeks - work related challenges... :D

I'll try a few more 'demon tweaks' to the sheet over the weekend and you can see what you think - if you have more data send it along and I'll update the list while I am at it

If Fry holds a force ride I will make the journey.

Cheers

Mark

Thanks Taffy,

I'll have a look at it when I get a little more time and see what i can put together. It's not a small job is it :computer: I can understand why you may have put this one on the back burner for a while!

Cheers

Hi again,

As sad as I am, I've just had a look on Bike Bandit, following the advice from Husabutt earlier on in this thread, and found if you use the Husaberg part number and search for it under KTM you get a great list of KTM's that it fits, then search for it under Husaberg, you get less models obviously but the price is cheaper than the same part for a KTM :? Doesn't realy help us I know but anyone with a KTM should take note if ordering from them.

besides json we get little help running things. run down maybe but actual stuff done on here is actually down to just the top man i think. getting help with this will have to come from those that don't mind a bit of work. it's not aimed at the man who knows the year and model post '04, it's aimed at the man who doesn't know of an upgraded part or what will fit from somewhere else.

if all you need to do is get a part number for your post '04 then go to bikebandit.

and in the meantime what do the rest do!

Hi taffy,

Just so I get this right and don't go off in the completely wrong direction, we are looking for equivalent parts and numbers for '04 and earlier models?

everything! it's there for everyone just to keep adding and keep adding info!

of course we won't get much help but it's always been a labour of love around here!

i need a taker on this. i won't go away!

David, just a kick on this one.
I am working in the computers, and my boss/collegues are really good with spreadsheats.
So you can email me on thijs [at] keustermans [dot] nl

Hey Thijs

thanks for that, but we do have the beginnings of something in the doc i think? i gave chilled/mark a copy of what i do and he converted it. what only a handful of people know is that the doc started out as 3 sheets of A4 paper stapled together and as a word document. i built it up to 20 pages and then we went 'online' with it.

well the parts data sheet i work on everyday is coming on the same way! it's absolutely massive! at the moment it contains too many of my secrets and is still just a word doc. however, after i've had a good analytical look at it i will ask either mark or your friend to go to town on it.

i'd like it ready for FR3. as something i can see people to discuss! give me a coupla weeks - it's brewing up!

regards

Taffy
