Hey there,

I have a 96 Husaberg fX501 that I purchased last summer for barely anything (600 bucks) and am now making a few repairs (clutch cable, Brake lever, replace kill switch tune up, etc.) and already I must say for 600 bucks it was a steal. it runs amazing and has tons of power. It was owned, at one time, by the Husaberg/KTM (now closed) dealer/owner in Logan, Utah and aside from being a left kick (Ugh!) this bike is in great shape. My problem, and I may be beating a dead horse but I just want clarification on the kill switch...

There is an orange wire that comes off of the box below and hooks to a black wire and runs up to the handle bars and is zip tied to the handle bars as a bare wire. Now, I am assuming that there used to be a kill switch there and the whole housing is gone and the only thing left is one wire. I contacted Moto Tech in Boise, ID and they sent me a Honda CR/XR 2 wire switch that is supposed to work... Now my bike only has one wire...and that is it. So, on the switch I have a black and white wire that I assume is going to hook to the orange wire...and a green (or green and yellow - Can't remember) that is hooked to the clamp on the kill switch and has a connector on it...

Since I don't see another wire to hook it to, am I right in assuming that this green one, that attached to the clamp, gets grounded to the bike somewhere on the frame? or do I splice it to another wire?

thank you, in advance for your time and information.

Ed.

just connect one wire to a ground (anywhere) and the other to your black to orange. most people just use a single wire type that grounds to the bar when pushed, but your 2 wire is fine.
