Mine is in the same boat FE650E 06 lost the crank nut at hr47 and had been loos sense hr2 the fix for street riden Burgs VIA Bob @ Husaberg and Rick @ BOSS is a cush drive rear wheel. It seems only street riden 550and 650 are eating keyways from the crank nut coming loose from the 1/1 shock load you get on the street and not in the dirt where the wheel just spins.I should be Getting my bike back from BOSS soon and I have ponied up for the SM cush drive rear wheel I will post if this helps the problem. CHECK YOUR NUTS ALWAYS NEVER LET THEM DROP

unfortunately FAKTOR does not have access to the BOSS service department .

i bet you he wishes he did though .

Have you checked that the primary nut isn't bottoming out on the crank?

Hi Faktar,

Here's my ten pennies worth for what it's worth, could be the expansion of the gears and pinions, the tolerence is much closer when the engine is hot.
Also when the oil is cold it tends to muffle noises more than when it is hot.

Mine sounded to more noisier when hot but when I pulled the motor apart every thing was how it should be. This engine has also had new crank piston and bearings recently.

The reason for strip down was it kept partially jumping out of third gear, somebody had reassembled the shims wrongly on the counter shaft.

Regards

Sparks.
