Hello folks,

I'm a 49 yr/old electrical engineer with three Husabergs. The 550 is mine, the other's are my oldest two sons bikes. Local high desert riding for the most part.

My problem is my dealer has turned solid orange and I'd like PM's from those in the SoCal area concerning your dealers - good or bad.

Thanks for your time, regards,

Mark

Hello Mark,

Welcome to the site!

I'm sure some of the more local guys will be along shortly to say hello too but it seems that Motoxotica is the dealer to use. Details can be found on a banner that flashes at the top of the page.

Cheers,
Simon

Mark,
Contact [email protected] (Brett Saunders) as he is your regions sales / dealer representative and shall see to it you are properly looked after.

Huntington Beach, CA. I've changed the sig info.

I'm not suggesting there is anything wrong with the dealer we've purchased our bikes from, but their head's not into Husabergs at all. 25 new KTMs on the floor and one used Husaberg tells a story.

When I bought the 650 (new in November) it wouldn't start in the parking lot. I came back in a week and it started but filled the parking lot with blue smoke. On the third trip it started (reluctantly) but it barked bad when closing the throttle and the head pipes glowed orange even in the daylight. I suggested the jetting was off, they kept it for an additional day but no improvement. I took possesion and figured I'd sort it out myself.

Thanks for any opinions that can be offered, I don't mind driving a ways if it is to a knowledgable shop.

Regards, Mark

Ron Bishop Motorcycles in Escondido is whom I have purchased 3 Bergs from. He is a one man band. Very knowledgeable and a good mechanic. I just picked up an 05 450 from him which he rejetted (changed the pilot and needle) and it seems to start well at least. I haven't ridden it yet  . He just got three 05's, a Fe450, Fe550 and an Fe650 if anyone needs one right away.

I think Z Racing in Anahiem is closer to you and I have read on this site that they are good. Also Eric's in Pasadena.

It sounds like a jetting issue and if you would like to tackle it yourself there are many here that are knowledgeable with the FCR carb and Dale Lineaweaver has a jetting kit in the works with a custom ground needle. You came to the right place :) .
