Intermittent High Idle

Hi,

Havee been riding all day, and everything is still good. Will look in to the drilling, but from tomorrow I am off to work for 4 weeks,

Anders, DK

I removed my Akro last night and resealed the joint to header pipe - All the high rpm popping and flamethrower effects have now gone :)

Still pops as she gets closer to idle rpm...

That's good info. I was told the same ages ago, that leaking exhaust could cause popping... but somehow forgot it again. On mine the headers ar inside the exhaust, crating and "wind catcher".

But surely it didn't change the the way it rides, but just the way i sounds !?

Hi Anders
My headers also fit inside the silencer, so a good seal is a must :) No noticable change in performance though....

The Carb came off and yes I was rich. It had a 180 main and a 50 pilot with a strange needle.
I had the local Husaberg dealer fiddle with it because I wanted it right firsthand.
He put a 175 main 52 pilot and OBDVT needle with clip in 3rd osition.
Yes that was the ticket! I am running an open ended AKRA silencer with spark arrestor.
Fuel screw is 2 out at sea level to 2,000 or so and I set it at 1 7/8 out at 4,000.
No complaints here. Lot's of power. No High elevation low idles.
Idle is smooth and consistant .
Now I start it with the choke, whereas before I would blip the thottle first before
hitting the button.
I warm it on choke with easy throttle for a few minutes before taking it off as the temp
rises. Once warm the motor runs clean and crisp
Before it would start easier but did not perform as well.
I also now have the hot start cable mounted in a custom spot near the button.
Sure makes it convienant when needed, mostly after shutting it off for a rest
and firing it back up when still hot. It will fire up without it but not as instantaneous
as wirth the hotstart. I can have it in in gear and it will fire up with the
hotstart and the button.
