8O  bet the Husaberg love is low right now. Sorry to hear about you misfortune, if you don't mide me asking stock pump or the aftermarket variety?

This is the second factory pump I have had in the bike in only 26 hrs I'm going to order the aftermarket Cycle works pump and then maybe just get rid of the berg this thing has been to the dealer at 5 times for issues and spent months there cause no one could figure it out

Hey I'm sorry to here that, this fuel pump issue is very strange my 09 berg has been perfect apart from a broken wire in the loom , I've purchased a cycle works fuel pump just in case mine go's pop, I'm sure it's solvable it just seems very sporadic I've only heard of 1 person in the uk with pump issue's, and I'm wondering if the quality of fuel has its hand in these failures ??

I can't condone working with people who want to work against the make of bike I love?

the title is: "I think I have the biggest berg lemon ever" and the video title is; "why not to buy a husaberg"?

if the prosperity of this site is related to and linked to in some distant way the correlation of the two I would have to say Spencer that you're phuqin it up for us all and the site? by all means air your problems but this is aimed at 'wrecking' things and not solving them?

another reason the moderators should get a grip here but won't.

Just sell the Husaberg and go Orange mate OK?

regards

Taffy

Maybe Im missing something here but how can one person's opinion be "ph***n up this site" ?

This is an open forum my friend for people to share the good, the bad and the ugly of the brand as well as knowledge and wisdom. For this reason this forum (and others like it) are invaluable but do not flame a forum member because his views do not lie with yours. I too have had problems (including a new OE FI pump) with my bike which sorely tested my patience and brand loyalty/satisfaction. They were eventually resolved (good dealer) and, for the moment at least, I am happy again but if I am unfortunate enough to have any more major problems, rest assured, you will read of them on here along with my opinion.

I think I speak for all the mods when I say that to delete this post would do nothing but damage the integrity of the site.
Yes we are all huge fans of Husaberg and want to see it flourish, but on the other hand we have a saying over here in the US "It is what it is". From time to time any and all mfg's will produce "a lemon", Husaberg surely isn't any different.
We should be focusing on aknowledgement and correction of the issue rather than denial.

To do nothing but blow sunshine up peoples arses would be a disservice to everyone involved.

Thanks for playing, and best regards.

Has anyone been looking into the differences between '09 fuel pumps and '10-'11's...? I seen/read/heard very little in the way of complaints from '09 berg owners on much of anything....including fuel pumps. My '09 has 150 hours on i,t in every imaginable condition, and it's still purring right along flawlessly!

...just wondering...

Thanks

Brandon

I had about 15 good hours on my '10 Husaberg after fixing the fuel pump issue with a CA Cycleworks pump. Today I drove an hour to ride a great trail I only have access to once a year and the bike wouldn't start (after having rode around the neighborhood last night for a check-out, like I always do cause I'm still not confident in the fuel system). The pump itself is working (I can hear it) but the bike's not getting fuel. It lights off fine when you pour gas down the throttle body, so it's not the plug or fuel map. I'm going to pull the pump out of the tank and check my connections, and then look at the injector. I'm only at 24 hours on this bike. I want to love (and do like it when I'm riding it) but I can't have a bike that fails on me, I don't get enough riding days or paycheck to waste on a $8000 dollar bike that doesn't run when I expect it to. I feel your pain Spencer66.

Can anybody point me in the direction to a good troubleshooting thread that deals with the injector and voltages on the electrical connections? The service manual has about 3 pages on taking off and installing the throttle body, nothing on the removing/replacing the injector.

spencergt66 it could be a different problem now, like the connectors on the fuel pump, maybe they need to be locked on like Dale did.

Or maybe it is related to the fuel you are using?

It's just my opinion but I think your youtube heading sux

hey Spencer that really sux man, I broke 2 ktm rear hubs in 6 months the first was replaced under warranty, after the second I got an aftermarket one, that was nearly 4 years ago no issues since.

not sure where you would get an aftermarket pump? a while back I posted a link to one the husky guys are using. there is also someone selling stuff on ebay to fix "problems" with the old bergs that the factory couldn't fix. some of the listings say "this is the doodad the factory should have used" so Maybe fuel pumps will be listed sometime in the future, keep your eyes open

Well once I got home and everything was nice and cool the pump magically decided to work again just like before while out on the trail the pump wouldn't even try to turn it's as if it wasn't even connected I'm ordering the ca cycle works pump tomorrow I have heard on no issues with these while I'm in there I'm planninig on soldering the conectors just to be sure

O and davo I know the title is bad but at the time I was really po'd I'm not sooo mad now just bummed it's a husaberg there's a lot of love/hate to go along with it.

If I had bought a jap bike with these issues you be sure that every part the dealer had put on would have been money out of my pocket

Hey spencergt66, it's good to see the youtube subject changed to "More Husaberg issues"
I know it's easy for me to say, "stick with it" as I have not had the Fuel Pump issue, but I do hope you have success fixing it.

As I have previously said in this post What is the failure rate and cause of FE450 fuel pumps? :
Yes this is a bad situation and it is strange KTM don't grab this by the balls and fix it. If I was in KTM marketing, I would be in damage control and at the very least post something on UHE that was good news. The KTM marketing team all must have MBA's and have their heads in the clouds or heads somewhere else?
I have not had this problem, but would not swap my Husaberg for any other bike going around because of a Fuel Pump. It would just be a step backwards in my opinion.

I agree Davo
It's to bad a few bikes with problems makes all of them sound bad because many of them have had no problems
This is the same thing that happens in the Automotive world, a supplier of one part can hurt the reputation of an otherwise great vehicle!!
A week ago I returned from Utah where we rode about 800 miles of great stuff and the five miles of HELL test again( I'm getting to old for that trail)
Today we did about 100 miles of trail in the Sawtooth mountains in Idaho, about the last for the year snow and ice up high.
My 2010 FE 570 has over eleven thousand miles on it and I think it just keeps getting better
This is one of the BEST bikes I have owned and I have had many bikes over my riding years
Just can not say enough about how great these bikes
Have a great ride
Haskell in Idaho

I just went riding this weekend with my buddy who has a brand new 2012 KTM500EXC. After his first ride (2 weeks ago) he had the fuel pump replaced, and on this ride he could not get any revs or power out of the bike, so he had to abandon the ride. Not a fuel pump problem but definitely something not right with that motor. She would run but not rev...

He was feeling rather bummed with KTM and life in general, right then and there.

Oh yes - my FX450 is running just perfectly... (I had the CA cycleworks fuel pump fitted ages ago).

Yeah, sure enough the end of the submersible fuel hose had popped off the un-barbed end of the CA Cycleworks pump. I figured that would happen at some point. So I roughed up the nipple and tried to flare it out a little bit as I'd seen someone do in another thread. Also went a little tighter on the FI camp and attempted t safety wire the hose to the pump housing. The bike starts and runs fine now. Hopefully I've fixed this and won't be stuck in the parking lot (or out on the trail) again.

My bad for not attaching it right the first time, hopefully this doens't happen too often, otherwise the pump is working great. Spencer- get the CA pump before shitcanning it. Good luck.
