Husaberg El start failure??

yelladevil. to answer your ? best to have cable direct from batt to motor and then if you want to, run one from motor to frame. But...... your frame does not use a lot of power so there is no real need to earth it. all power users (lites, horn, speedo) all have a pos and neg feed. they dont use the frame as a bond.
as for the isolation switch.... just another thing to go wrong. Bergs are simple and thats wot makes them great.
If you dont have battery testing gear then pull the main fuse and leave for a cuple of weeks to see if batt still discharges. If battery still goes flat, then buy a new one. A good quality one. dont buy it because its cheep. And if you have multi week gaps between rides then get a battery tender too. Best to get a multi meter to prove the battery and chargeing system. takes the guess work out of the equation.
Back to the quality of battery, this is one place you dont want to save w8. Cheaper batterys are lighter because heavy metals do the work. hope this helps.

took my bike round to my local mechanic hopeing he would have a multimeter. theres defantly a charge to the battery, with lights on or off... i didnt see it go over 14 at half revs... he recons its fine... whats the highest voltage untill it starts to nacker the battery? ive had two new mf batterys untill now and a cheap ***** one, all have gone dead in the past after a few days, never to recieve a charge again... hopefully this ones gona have a different story:p fires up with the first touch of the button... if i loose the charge in a couple of days whilst riding the bike everyday, ill wack the battery on charge for the night, move the earth to the engine like the newer models n see what happens from there, if no luck. ill just have to fork out on an electrician to sort it for me... thanx for the help guys

oh yea, i bludy hate electrics, especialy when there the ones giving you the problems  my bike looked like someone had thrown a bowl of black spagetti under the tank n behind the front light when i first got her, but hey prais the lo/hi switch. newer ones havent got that but at least they put a bit more effort in making trick boxes under the seats n behind the light to tidy things up abit.

I think you have three issues here two of which have been mentioned:

As Taffy stated you will benefit from a 04 -08 autodecompression device. It needs to be modified to fit (see the doc), or better yet use the entire camshaft assembly from a 04 -08 as the cam profile will probably also aid in starting. The newer cam and decomp are so good Husaberg was able to drop the kick start activated decomp on the 04's!

Always keep the battery plugged into a Optimate 3 or 4 charger (or equivalent) when not in use.

The SEM ignition needs to spin up to a certain RPM before it will produce a spark. Having Sparks rewind the ignition has been shown to help in this regard.

Hey again!

The problem was that the spring on the ADC was broken..

The problem is solved and the el start start works like hell

But after 1 hours of riding the battery is total empty??

Tried to charge it but the battery wont charge?

Its a new battery from taffy..

I dont understand what can be wrong?

those cables seem a bit thin and i'm just wondering if the battery hasn't cooked itself trying to start it originally.

i hate batteries!

try and charge it off the bike or with the leads off.

see how that goes?

regards

Taffy
