Update:
I removed the 3 bolts securing the cover, rotated the cover clock wise about 30ish degrees, and it runs like a charm, i even drove it and it made me grin like that boy on the back of the bus with his face pushed to the window [emoji51]

I forgot my multimeter, i wanted to measure the resistances on the new stator. It's suspicious as why is it so advanced on the regular position. [emoji848]

Awesome though. Super cool.

The ... cover itself? Is off another year than the rest of the motor?

Maybe Ede can help you? he has said little about his.

Ede? what is going on here?????

that is retarded Povas and what you need to understand is that 1mm of stator travel may equate to 4-5mm of the whole cover retarding backwards.

so i suggest that you do this again
1) move the stator to the central position in the cover
2) refit the cover
3) pull start the bike again in the way you did before.
4) adjust the cover for best running
5) do the maths on how many millimetres of stator = how many millimetres of cover movemement.

kind regards

Taffy

If i'm not mistaken , the red coil/cdi is for early engines only . If yours has the stator on the cover you should be using a black coil/cdi . The timing is different and that can be your problem

I somehow overwatched this. Could it be that i need to be running a black coil instead if the red??

Do they have a different ignition advancement map? Due to being used on the inverted ignition pre-99?
Why did i assume the red coil would work on the later models [emoji58]
Well then i guess I'll go ahead and get the programable one. Plenty of good info on Ede thread
