Husaberg 380 review

Hi Fedge

I would agree with Doug, the Akro is a big bike exhaust, and especially with the 41 and the big valves your bike has, I'd ditch the system for Doug's setup.

Fedge, I just realized you are the one with the WEC bike. My bike is similar to yours. The 380 works REALLY well on these bikes, with the big valves and the beefed up valve springs it revs out better than a stock 450 with this kit. You really need the KTM 400 cam for it to come alive though. I'll check to see what carb I have......

380 jetting

Here are the jetting specs from Husaberg for the 380 conversion kit using the high comp piston that comes with the kit which is not the same as the old 400 piston.

For the FE450e 04-07 with 39mm FCR:
Main 160
Pilot 38
Needle OBDVT in position 4

For the FC450 04-05 with 41mm FCR:
Main 178
Pilot 42
Needle OBDVT in position 6

RE: 380 jetting

Thank you midwest. That means that my 380 has exactly the jetting recommendet from Husaberg, but I still think that the exhaust (valves as seen throug exhaust) and spark plug are more gray than brown and it is a bit tricky to start, or to be more precise, easy to start but it dies after 1-2 seconds about 3-4 times. Well, I have adjusted teh valves now and adjusted the needle to position 7. Hopefully that will do the trick.

midwest will this work with my full Ti exhaust or will I have to go with a stock set-up with a slip on? And thank for the jetting info this is a big help right off the start.

Thanks fedge
