No internet rumors...Some months ago there were some photoshop pictures, don't matter with this news...

someone in germany is always trying to sell what looks like a 2T engine on ebay. maybe finally it has sold because i haven't seen it for 6-months. ask maddel/husa98 or another german if they have seen the advert?

ok,no mistakes...On http://www.soloenduro.it some people say that the possibility of Husby two stroke is not so far...but it's a reality.
They say that the new bike it will be show up on next June.
Obviously all rumors are not supported by photos or documents, but this people are in sector....
I asked to them more informations, but they said that the matter is secret.
I'll try again.

Time will tell.
If they were to come out with a 2-stroke, one could imagine it would be a revolutionary new design in keeping with Husaberg's way of forward thinking.

One thing you learn (if you are open to it) about internet and magazine rumors regarding tech of any sort (motorcycles, cars, computers, cameras, whatever), is to not pay too much attention to such rumors until the manufacturer actually announces something, and even then don't hold your breath until it gets to the marketplace.

Blasphemy!

funnily enough i emailed Oliver about an event a while ago and also jokingly asked if Husaberg were going to do a 70 deg fuel injected 2st.

naturally he replied that he couldnt comment on anything at present.

wouldnt be surprised if they did do a 70 degree fuel injected 250 or 300.

afterall KTM need to use something as a test bed before using it on the bikes that bring in the big bucks.

70 degree 2st 300 / 250 with injection and in a similar - but obviously appropriately modded- chassis to the 4st would be hell of a weapon.

well i know the story behind the 2st berg- it was done as a joke exc200 in new clothes- that risky has posted up but whats the story with the berg with the new head grafted on?

what's that head off of and why?

although it is supposed to be a well kept secret, Husaberg has at least one prototype two stroke in use.
I will take some pics of it during its 'testing' this week end and post them. The prototype lacks decals, etc but it looks like a husaberg.

also, it is a two stroke ....not 2t.

tuts

are they going to put the crankshaft up in the middle like the vier Takt models ?

Zwei-Takt-Motor = 2t, vier-Takt = 4t

nice twincam head !

Did you get any pics? Will I be splashing the Cash on a 2 stroke berg this Aug or will I have to wait another year :(

could turn out that i was both right and wrong with this.

Uk mag TBM have announced that Berg are working on 2st bikes (the bit i was sceptical about) and that the bikes are likely to be in unconventional displacements untilising injection and the 70 degree engine layout (the bit i've suggested to be likely if they were doing a 2st)

things could be getting interesting.

FWIW, Been reading just about every magazine of late on flights accros OZ and around the globe, I think in ADB it was they ran a short blurb and a photoshopped picture of a new 09/10 shape berg with a big old expansion chamber and a 2 stroke motor and said it was being looked at to assist KTM with developing more unit market share.

The motor used for the pick was a standard looking exc 250 / 300 not a 70 degree jobby....may be true may be BS a standard KTM motor is more likely, then the advantage would also been chassis development for teh pumpkins...could put and end to the Four Stroke force....

Cheers

MxDave....This is tuts talking.....the prototype is in his garage and suspiciously says Honda on the side.

One of the things you learn after a few years of reading motorcycle mags is that they sometimes invent stuff. The 'artist's conception' pics are pretty much a dead giveaway.

Until there is an official announcement I don't pay much attention to these kinds of rumors. Even if they are working on it, many projects like this never make it past some R&D work. The market changes, the tech doesn't work out, or any number of other reasons why they decide to drop it.
