I have a 2011 FE 570 that has been the best of times and the worst of times...

The best of times:
  • Climbed every mountain without fail
  • Ran scarey strong
  • Impressed everyone else

The worst of times:
  • Too much bike for an old man. I bought it new in 2011 when I was 61 and it really was more than I could handle.
  • Too tall - I can never make those slow turns where I can't reach the ground without laying it over and I'm 5'10"
  • I only still have about 40 hours on the bike as of 2016
  • Fuel Pump dies when the gasoline gets too hot
  • Replaced fuel pump - now it wont start if the engine is hot
  • Husaberg goes out of business
  • My Husaberg dealer goes out of business
  • nobody can diagnose my problem
  • can't even sell the bike
  • $13,000 door stop...

i took out in line fuel filter and put in a filler sock filter. replaced pump never had problem since.

DKl032 did you replace the fuel pump with an aftermarket? That's what I did and I am suspicious of it. Actually, I am suspicious of the mechanic. Not sure he knew his stuff...

Got the pump from cycle buy. Installed myself. There are no more mechanics in the valley that I can find. They all say they don't have "books" to get specs or have diagnostic tools. You probably got from same dealer in Boise that changed hands and they won't service either. If you have a lead on a mechanic or shop that will work on bike please share! I need to put in fresh piston and rings and I don't want to dig in that far myself. It is a great powerful bike that is used mainly for snowbiking but I'm afraid I may have to retire it if I can't get serviced. To many sensors etc that could prove to be problematic.

@Kenbrough - Do the fuel pump prime / run when the engine is hot and it won't start?

Dkl032 - I will let you know what I find, but I am not hopeful. Almost willing to take a run to Portland or ???

@kenbrough - If you quickly depress and release the starter button the bike will not start but the fuel pump will prime with a clearly audible noise for a second or two.
Try it when the bike is cold so you know what the sound is, then try it when the bike is hot and will not start to verify that the fuel pump is not seized.

ken - spoke to action in idaho falls. service mgr looked into his capabilities and said he had the diagnostic equipment for our 570. he said he could/would work on bike.

you may want to talk to rpm in garden city. spoke to him today and although he does not have diagnostic equipment, he seemed to know bergs well. he spoke of inline fuel filter (near injector) and said it was a major need to keep injector clean. i pulled mine as i mentioned. cycle buy has upgraded filters on line. per a lot of blogs, old inline filter would clog or swell with heat to reduce fuel flow.

the pump is from ca cycleworks? aftermarket for sure.
