DaleEO - thanks big time for the tip on pulling the starter for clearance to pull the carb

This bike in general is a pleasure to work on - except what is up with the swingarm slipper chain guide preventing the removal of the stock 16T CS - that is a first class pain if you aren't breaking the chain apart.

In an effort to clean up a header leak at the collector, I dismantled the right header and dry fit it - it doesn't bottom out in the collector like I expected it to. Can someone tell me if they should - mine is 1/8inch shy of seating in the collector when the flange is seated at the head.

Valves were quite easy to do for a first timer, and only out by a few thou on the intake side mostly at 15hrs.

Can someone clarify something during an oil change- the manual calls for filling the cavity (or does it intend the filter) half full - I did the cavity and it seems I may have too much oil (used 1litre + 1/2 cavity) - I dropped 100ml out of it since and the sight glass is still at half, cold. Minor oil spewed into the frame as well. Do these bikes prefer running the oil slightly low on the sight glass?

Cheers

I rechecked the manual and it states fill the cavity and then add 1 litre - this seems like too much from what I am seeing

Thanks for the confirmation - I 'll drop it some more.
