Riding my 2011 FE570 going off a small jump engine had a small pop and died. Lucky for me it was at the top of the mountain costed the bike for about 3 miles push it for only about 500 yards before I met up with friends. Later tried starting it nothing but could hear pump working (sounded a little different) Got it home check spark it was good. Poured small amount of gas into throttle body it ran so I replace fuel pump bike runs fine now. Question no hint of a problem running good then not running? Haven't taken the pump apart let. Any thoughts? Fuel pump was the original 5 years plus in the bike. Did run the bike slow that day so a friend could keep up. Will let you guys know what I find when I take apart the pump.

What I did as a quick fix was to replace the fuel tank from another Husaberg to get to work which it did. I was going to replace the fuel pump on the original tank but then I was wondering if the pressure regulator might be problem? Does anyone know an easy way to check it?

Normally with a pressure regulator you can get it to "maybe" start but only for a second or two. The fuel pump not at all unless it's the common impeller expansion heat seizing that when cooled down the bike will start. I've had 2 failures in my 2010 FE450 and 1 in a 2012 FE250 Husky.

The sucky thing is that the entire fuel pump is a "system" and it's hard to find a regulator on it's own. I ended up using a Ducati FP regulator that I got online. The fuel pump can be readily found on Ebay. just be sure to get the right line connectors.

Ca cycleworks has the regulators for a little under 50 bucks. The regulator is mounted in the panel under the seat where the fuel lines exit the tank. When mine went bad it would not even try to start, it wouldnt hold over 5 psi. I could see that it was bypassing a ton of fuel by bumping starter and seeing the fuel spraying in the tank.

I woundnt think the regulator would instantly die. I would check all the hose connections to the pump. You could have jarred a hose loose and fuel is just cycling in the tank.

to test the fuelpump

it should pump fuel if I just take it out and set it a bin of fuel without the regulator ?
open connectors attached to the hoses

with 12v voltage ofcourse....
