Gday all...Its been a while.

My 04 FE450 is still patiently waiting for me to buy some time to start my mods. One of the main things I want to develop is the suspension. I read somewhere that a kit is available to convert the fork internals over to the sss kayaba system.
Has anyone on here tried going down this path?

G'day Blunny If it is available as a kit then yes do it absolutely

I don't think anyone here has done it

Blunny

are you able to do the fork yourself? send me your bottom and mid taps and I'll re-valve them for you and sell you the top-out springs. you can get your own main springs if you like.

regards

Taffy

Thanks for the offer Taffy but no sorry. With the combination of Australia Post & the Royal Mail costs I could buy a set of Ohlins ...I have seen the kits being discussed on a forum somewhere so I will keep googling until I sort it out.
I have ticked a few items off of my list & suspension is one of the big ones. The forks & shock on my yz are so much better...

(To continue the revalving off-topic just a smidge further - FWIW revalving is something you do at the kitchen counter. Real easy job. Given a shim stack you want to put in. Which we can surely figure out among ourselves. Given that even I could design a stack for my DRZ and put it in, I'll go so far as to say that anyone can do it :) )

I think that the overall WP design is not as good as the SSS design so why waste any more time & $?

Maybe I should try Japanies bike and see what I'm missing. The *********** forks I have seem better then great to Me?

the forks are crap on all Husabergs off-road. certainly up to 2011. post from the UK and Taffmeisters is always cheap. probably 10gbp or 20 oz dollars.

its getting it to us that is the expensive bit.

it took me 40 pages and 8 years of testing to get it right at the front. i reckon that that is worth something.

Well argued - My apologies.
