FE650E 2003 gear case broken?

I just had to take a last ride... I knew my chain was worn but not worn enough to snap while doing 80km/h.

Outside of the bike seems remarkably little hurt by this, som scratches on the clutch slave cylinder and around front sprocket.

But I fear it tore itself up inside because the engine revved up a bit too high as it suddenly lost the chain and now I can move the front sprocket about 1/4 turn then it stops, no matter if the bike is in gear or neutral. Diagnosis?

Maybe you broke the cam chain.

Open the clutch cover and check it

Engine seems to function fine when kicked over gently. Haven't dared fire it up... Gearbox however seems to have lost at least one gear and like I said if I put it in gear, the front sprocket (driving the chain) moves freely for about 1/4 turn then I hear and feel a metallic blockage. Feels like a cog or something is broken in the gearbox?
