What fuel consumption does anyone get from a 570 ?

I went out on Monday and only got 100km (60 miles) out of the tank on my 570 with the Akara carbon slip on

I would have thought it would get more than 12km/L ! I was not riding hard even.

Has anyone loaded a different EFI map or still the stock one they came with ?

that's not possible gazza sorry!

fuel injection is the answer to eveything, all your needs, it'll even make you a cup of tea! when you have fuel injection you can remap it and the metering of fuel will be so precise that it'll leave the ancient carburettor miles behind!

fact is, you should be able to get 4 hours out of a tank no problem so i suggest that you try filling it up next time.

if this is true, i've just been handed enough material to keep me in jokes until 2015. 8) 8)

where's daleO when you want a laugh hey!!!! where are all those cocky huckers now!

i tell ya what gazza    , if you want 4 hours out of just 9 litres and you can afford the price of a conversion - i'll set you right mate howzat?

otherwise its bushtucker for you mat hey!!!

when i get the chance i'm going to pull up all hose old threads and PM the culprits PERSONALLY!

i can see it now, an '09 with a fuel tanker behind it? what a picture

good luck mate, learn to ride in hiking boots is prolly the best answer....

regards

Taffy

If you had a fuel screw, I'd suggest turning it in to a half turn out. Did that to all three of my '05 'Bergs and can now get 50 mpg out of the 650 and 65 out of the 550's. Remember, they like to run lean, so maybe this is also true of the new ones and you can make or get some leaner maps to try. You need the Taffy equivalent of fuel injection as a Guru for these new bikes. Hopefully, you can do it with the factory tools rather than having to go to something like a Power Comander. Done this before and it can actually be a lot of fun.

Got the same consumption on my 450. But hey, it's all sand and mud here so no surprise.
Need the same liters as the rest of the bunch on their EXC530'sand 450's.

fuel consumption

I was hoping the fuel injection on the new Husaberg would get mileage equal to the older husaberg
Every one rides with a different throttle hand so it's hard to compare milage from the carb to the FI system
My favorite Husaberg of the four I have owed was my 2000 FE 501e Great bike
Riding trails and dirt roads not being aggressive with the throttle the 501 would get 50/55mpg with no problem. when I planned a ride this would be the milage I would count on, never had to walk home on 120 mile rides. I even got as high as 60mpg a few times. I had to replace the needle jet often because of wear every three to four months depending on miles rode. The Dellordo carb worked great for me on the 2000 501 the 2002 501 carb was not as good
In sand with the 2000 501 hard aggressive riding I would be out of gas at seventy to seventy-five miles, big difference from babying the throttle
You guys with the 570 model I would like to know if you ride it easy trying to get mileage what the bike will do. I know this is hard to do with the new Husaberg they like to be rode hard not babied
Have a great ride

It's not too flash on my 09 FE450 either..

I have run out at 94.1km & had to push it 2.7kms. I hope a new map comes out soon. I really need 110km range.

A reserve warning light would be handy

it seems like the rear subframe mod for the extra 4 L is going to be a necessity, not a nice option !!

with the same type of riding I would have gotten about 15-16km/L from my '08 650, not 12km/L of the 570 :(

also the 570 power is nice and smooth.......................BUT I miss the V8 grunt of the 650 :(

A demo 09 FE450 I rode last year before my bike turned up had a far better fuel range..

I got 69miles from 7.8litres out of the 570 on trail.
That doesnt seem bad reading some of the posts.
Yeah, an extra 2 litres tapped into subframe hollow with a reserve light would be great for 4 hour enduro races.

So far I have been getting about 32 mpg, not riding very hard but carrying speed none the less. Riding about the same on my 04 550 I got about 35 mpg.

I rode in a race this weekend, Desert MC National Hare & Hound, still breaking it in so no full throttle but about 75 or 80% max. The first loop was 42 miles, and the second was 37. Speed average for the entire distance was around 22mph. Filled the tank at the end of the 42 miles, and had about 3 liters left at the end of the 37 mile loop.

Seems to me as stated by NKW570 that the bike should be good for about 50 miles racing and 70 miles trail riding.

Yes Taffy, you are/were right, the fuel injection uses more fuel contrary to what I thought should happen. But Mate, she runs pretty sweet!

Hopefully Aqualine will come out with some bigger tanks for the bike. But for now, if I need the extra fuel I'll put a Acerbis number plate tank on it and call it good.

We'll see how the mpg goes once it's got some more miles on it.

Same sort of figures here. 100km / 7L

I have been running 14/50 gearing on my 570. It pulls hard enough even with the extra 12% over 13/52.

That subtank thing will be a must for any riding involving any distance.

My 570 has popped the odd back fire off as well. My fault for not carrying enough revs I suppose.

The benefit of the immediate accelleration is countered by extra fuel used to get it. Is it worth it ? For me - 100% for sure.

RE: Distance

hmmm not sure where the 150km range on the '09 450's myth came from then, someone told me that's what they got at the Dealer release ride in the Blue Mts last year !!!

looks like 100km is it for the stock tank range.................thats poor compared to my '08 650 which will get 15-16km/L for the same type of riding to what I did on Monday and only drop to 12km/L under full rallye race mode

Plus I miss the 650 V8 grunt :(

RE: Distance

FUEL ECONOMY. Same as U2SLOW , But Hey whatttt a Bike.
I hate finishing a ride, i just wonna keep goin.

well you've got too much money you lot, especially you gazza!

! i can't believe you can think a dirt bike is worth that much to buy standard let alone fit the gear you al have. it's indecent!

so now you keep twaddling on about yer 3 or 4 maps you can get out there and find someone who will do you a map that will actually use less fuel with a degree of skill.

that's talent! any fool can chuck it in. still you can always talk about tyre pressures.

and do you know why? busy - must dash....

One thing thats do a big thing i think is that the EFI is always trying to obtain 14,7:1 in afr
for the emissions, in crusing-non accel, On a carb bike you dont have to take care off that. Because the carb cant. The old bike could take quite much leaner setings, that i think the new bike can to. Have the setting tool and go to some dyno-shop that are used to PCommander or simular and have the bike lowerd in low-load areas in the map. mesured with a wideband and you are going to have some more milige out of it.
Remember the bike is new and Husaberg may have been taken it litte moore rich, just to be on the safeside. the car manufactures is doing so sometimes, and next time you take it for service they put in a new modified map, and you would never know.

Just some thougths

Regards

I got 117km on a tank of fuel on my 09 570 before it quit. A lot of high speed riding. Good thing I had .5 of a liter of gas in a fuel bottle in my back pack. It got me the last 3 km home. What a fantastic day!

I went for a long ride yesterday, and with a full tank plus 2 x 750ml coke bottles of fuel I got 170Km's before the low fuel light came on.
Ride was just pretty smooth dirt fire trails, few hills and about 40 or 50kms of tar. Ride took about 4hrs.

2012 FE 450. Just under 200kms (120miles) on a standard 8.5 litre tank. Very easy cruisey riding though 50 - 90km/h, hilly rolling country roads & tracks. I reckon I could get further if I really tried.

2012 FE 570, bit of single line but 90% 4wd tracks, some very steep & rocky though,
118 km light comes on, not sure how much more is left in the tank but I know it got me another 15 kms back to my car. Not bad i recon & definitely better than my previous 530 exc.
would love the sub frame tank though.
