I think i have a fuel issue, have brand new 390 2011, however if i aggresively open the throttle the bike stalls, is fine when i feather open the throttle, Please advise

Check your fuel pump filters to see if they are clogged. If your tank was not cleaned out during PDI, that will be your problem.

Eventually got tank off and checked filters and all clean, have put back together and still same, thanks for suggestion though.

Take it back to the dealer and let them sort it out!! It being brand new and all it's under warranty.

Thanks Dale and i will take back to dealers (Midwest Racing) if i cannot cure but dealers are a fair drive away, hence why i am asking on here, have spoke to dealers who are fantastic and have suggested a few things as well, but they themselves would like me to take back as they seem very customer orientated and want to help solve problem.

hiya mate.
bit of a bad start to your new ride, hope its something simple, where you from

Just as a matter of interest, what did your dealer suggest?

Only for the first 30 days though, if it's the same as my '09 was. Still, since they know the problem already exists I'm sure they'd still try to fix it even if the bike didn't get back to them until after that.

Just a thought - how's the air filter? Not blocked in any way or over-oiled? Sounds either something like that or maybe not enough fuel available when it needs a burst (maybe the pump itself not producing enough pressure even though the fuel filter's ok). Or something wrong with the fuel mapping. Do you have the mapping switch, and if so have you tried all the mappings to see if it's the same on all of them? If you don't have a mapping switch I have a spare you could borrow to try that, now I've fitted the 70 Degree Racing one instead (went on a treat and looks good BTW Dale, only hope the tank's just as quick & easy to fit!).

Like fakesy said, whereabouts in Hampshire are you? If you're not too far away, as a special favour I might be able to pop round and test ride it for you for a few hours, just to help out. I'm very considerate like that.

yep come to think of it,i had problems when i put much foam oil on my airfilter,it didnt like so now use spray oil just a light covering & no probs.
may be a spin up the planes coming on then chaps!

I prefer the spray-on air filter oil too. Quicker and easier to do and less chance of over-oiling it.

A multi-Berg spin round the plains sounds good, especially if Rich's bike still won't let him use the throttle aggressively - that'll help me to keep up!

Thanks Guys...... I am from The New Forest (Lymington), be great to catch up with some other Berg riders, have a 12 acre wood in Ringwood which i have made into small enduro course if your ever interested.
Midwest really want to look at bike but they suggested i look at Fuel connections/Filler Cap/Air Filter.... they don't want me to start stripping tech stuff etc, i am going to ride in an enduro (Hare n Hounds) this weekend and see if it clears itself as being so new (Ever the Optimist), if not i have Monday off work and will take back to Midwest.
Have got mapping switch ( 3= Standard 2= Aggresive 1= Mild) it is Husabergs own switch and had as optional extra, will take for spin tonight and see if it makes any difference as not tried any other map other than Standard (#3)

So you just happen to have your own enduro course? You're going to have lots of friends!

We sometimes do a route from Andover to Salisbury then along the oxdroves towards Blandford & back and we cross the A338 south of Salisbury about 10 miles from Ringwood, so it would be doable for a brief pop-in to your wood as part of the normal route or to come straight down there if it was for a longer session. You're welcome to come out on the rides I do most Sundays with some mates from Basingstoke - that's mostly to the east of Andover so maybe a bit far for you, but that route down the oxdroves isn't all that far. And fakesy's your man for all the best routes around Salisbury Plain.

Hope you get your bike sorted soon. Hope I do too for that matter - 90% through fitting the 70 Degree Racing subframe tank but I hit a problem getting it all to line up to bolt it into place. Probably just some wiring stuck in the wrong place and caught between the two tanks but I'd run out of daylight anyway so I've put it to bed for the night and I'll carry on tomorrow if I get some spare time. I know a lot more about how my bike fits together now!

I had the pop and stall probelm on my 390 as well. Finally figured out that you got to keep turning the idle up until it stops stalling.

Looki

Have tried all 3 maps and was worse on map 1 (Mild) but this was road testing not off road, have now put idle a little higher and will run standard map (3) on Sunday.
Pete ... it would be great to come out on sat or sun, i have a van and would drive out to your starting point and go from there, my email is [email protected].

allrite fellas.yep would be good do go out for abit of bergage.i sometimes can scrounge a van so pete & i could come over, if not planes are a good allround playground..
mite get my mate out who got 570 then can do a working mans shootout
