Hi Folks,

I need the repair manual of my FE 550E 2006.
Is there anyone to share the .pdf version with me?:)

Thanks in advance,
Hugo

I need one as well. I downloaded the 2005 one from this forum and it's probably the same, but I'm not positive.
A quick glance through the 05 manual does not provide a lot of confidence in their manuals in general. Adjusting the valves is very briefly noted in "Engine Reassembly" and only lists one number rather than min/max and there is no reference to intake or exhaust.

I’ll look at my hard copy manual to confirm the year(s) it’s supposed to cover, maybe I can help to some extent

I found out from this video that both intake and exhaust are the same value.
An interesting way to adjust valves!

Taff's golden rule

try and play morse code with the rocker arm while holding the tappet nut.
if you can 'just' faintly hear 'tik-tik' at the rear licence plate then they are both good.
rattling; too loose, decomp can't work.
can't hear it; undo one tappet and try it, it has to be the one you undid and if it isn't = then it is the other one!

9/10 people get 1/6th of a turn and console themselves with that "FACT". its not a fact.

you'll do well to listen!

Taffy, I shouldn't have posted anything about valve clearances here as they have little to do with finding a manual. That said, your advice is terrible.
Thread pitch and rotation distances are quite precise. My/your hearing - not so much.

I downloaded a paid copy ($24.00) of the 2006 fe550e manual. It is exactly the same as the 2005 manual listed under the "manuals" section of this forum. The manual covers 04,05, and 06 for the fe550e.

Thanks for the response, Taffy.
I'm not sure what you mean by "tighten the nut off hard." Do you mean that if you tighten the nut very tight, it will set the proper gap?
