Can someone tell me the best way to drain ALL the coolant from my '04 FE450? I went out in very hot weather last weekend and managed to boil my bike! The rad emptied and the water left in the block was boiling for about 5 min! I waited for about an hour till it was cool and because I was in the middle of no where I needed to get home so... I filled my rad up with water from a stream! It worked though and I rode home for about 70 miles and it ran perfectly! But I think some proper coolant would be better so I want to drain the system completely so I can re-fill it with coolant!
What is the best way?

Umm....take a 1.5l coke bottle and small lenght hose. Open the bleeder/drain bolt on water pump cover. Put the hose on where the bolt was and open rad cap. Watch miracle happen and put drain bolt back on and fill rad with new stuff. 8O

I am not familiar with the cooling system on your bike, it may be similar to mine? i remove the radiator cap and lower radiator hose from the engine side, then remove the upper hose from the engine side at the water pump (if you have a drain plug just remove that) and lightly blow compressed air through it, if you wanted to make sure you get all the swamp muck out of your engine/radiator you could refill it with water a few times and repeat the procedure untill it comes out nice and clean, at least then whats in there is just water, you may even be able to get more out of the engine by laying it on its side when draining.....i wouldnt worry about it much if the water you put in was clean and not full of debris...
