Hi everybody,

My FE 600 (1999 model) has the following problems.
Consume oil (500 cc each 500 kms)
I can fell that vibration is increasing
I was talking with same mechanics (they know well Husaberg) and they told me:
Vibration increasing means that crank shaft is getting unbalanced as this is a serious problem of this model. Engine will broke sure!!
They recommended me to sell the bike ASAP!!…but I’m in love with my bike!
I do not have experience with this bike (I just ride about 2000 kms only)
Please let me know your opinion about this model!!!
Reliability of this model??
Advice in order to improve the reliability of this engine??

Please help!!

i would be very concerned about the vibration , if it was my bike i would not ride it .

the bike has been kind to you , it is telling you that it needs help . if you keep riding it you will end up with a lot more to spend as it could let go .

i would talk to a few dealers/ experts and plan to investigate the problems

Hi. I have the same model and most people tell me the vibration is normal but I would be concerned if it got worse. I had an oil leak but before that I was not aware of consumption. I have had my valves adjusted and roller bearing etc checked by dealer as I wanted to be sure about previous history. I was told it was well maintained and oil / filter and valves (adjusted) done regularly. See my previous posts and you can get a better idea from that. If you do not have an oil leak then I would think the oil consuption is not good.

Hi.
Thank you both for your opinions!!
Actually I stop riding my bike until decide about what to do.
I like too much this bike so I would like to solve problems if it is possible and improve the reliability of engine!
Aussieforce, how long did you ride your bike without problems?
Which kind of problems had your bike? (if it had!!)

Oil consuption is easy to repair I think but I am afraid about crank shaft breakage!!!

I want to keep my dear Husa healthy!!

I have only had it about 8 months. It has done about 4000 k's I think. These are a big bore engine and I find that the engine doesn't have to work hard out in the bush so I would think it will last well. I suggest you get it into a dealer or a mechanic that has worked on your model. What area are you in ? It is a good idea to add that information in your details and signature as well as your bike so we can help you easier. :)

Hi Aussierforce,

You're right, I will include details in my signature, Thanks for your advice.
I'm from Northwest of Spain. In Spain there is only one official importer for Husaberg and several dealers, but I think they are not so specialized in Husaberg.
Husaberg is not so popular in Spain because of people think that reliability of this bike is too bad.
Day before yesterday I was talking to my mechanic and he recommend me to continue riding my husaberg.
We will try to upgrade the engine changing all bearings and checking the crank shaft balance.
As you well said, this bike does not need to work in high rpm, it's better use the high torque this engine has.
In this way, I can safe the engine and using torque provides me more traction. It's very usefull to ride in this kind of mountains (muddy+wet stones)
