Could Beta fill in the gap left behind by Husaberg?

What I am wondering is what bike would the Husaberg community turn to as a alternative bike?

So, Husaberg owner's where would you go? Will you buy a Husqvarna now that Husaberg has merged with them like KTM has planned?

Or will you go to another company?

I bring Beta up because of all the bikes out there for some reason I can only see Beta as true Husaberg successor at this point.

But, there is still Gas Gas, TM Racing, and Sherco.

Is there GasGas? Or will there be GasGas

Gas Gas suspends production as it awaits financial restructuring plan approval | Dealernews

It is an old article but I haven't seen anything new saying it is settled.

It seems the small companies are disappearing. I race the Italian Huskies. Sometimes parts are harder to get than they are for the berg. I think ktm is playing games and not letting the parts out.
I'm not too quick to jump on to the sherco, beta wagon yet. If I had to replace a husky now, it would probably be with a Yamaha. The new 250 4t look good

I am a TM fan because I hear from magazine articles that their build quality is like a Swiss watch and each bike is like a piece of art.

Personally, I wish Aprilla would make dirt bikes again. Ones that actually compete with the rest of the manufactures and not with an ultra expensive twin.

I would go Husqvarna. KTM is really good and the husaberg engineers do not tweak them to be worse.

That's if KTM keeps them around.

Yeah I did not hear about GasGas stopping production. Its kind of surprising considering they just bought Husqvarna's Engine design's.

Sherco is interesting too from what little I know. Which is next to nothing. I'd try a TM if I could pick anything but Beta also speaks to me.

The Gas Gas FSE 450 was a GREAT bike! Kind of similar in feel and maybe ideology as the 70-degs. Smooth, linear, plush on the edge of softness, controllable, friendly. Not weak though mind you! (it is btw the DR-Z! it's the DR-Z motor, modified, incl. 6th gear and EFI, in a platform that fixes everything that's wrong with the DR-Z! And it failed and people are still buying new DR-Zs and still complaining about its flaws :) the free market is hilarious :/ )

I know very little about TM. I have never even seen one in person let alone known anyone that had one. I do know they are very well built bikes. I would love to see how they stack against other bikes.

So dose everyone think Husaberg and Husqvarna owners will simply flock to KTM now?
I just kinda feel like that's rewarding KTM for destroying brands. I mean can you really say the new Husqvarna's are actually Husqvarna's and not KTM's? At-least when BMW owned them they were still able to do there own thing.

I thought that Gas Gas had bought the rights to the red head Husqvarna motors from KTM? I've ridden few Gas Gas bikes, even was going to buy one, really liked the EC300. :p

"The main target of the acquisition is that Gas Gas will get access to Husqvarna’s pre-2013 two-stroke and four-stroke engines" quoted from A&R.

KTM may have bought Husqvarna but they didn't buy all of Husqvarna. It's going to be interesting to see what GasGas will do with the engines. I hope while they may not be producing bikes at the moment. They are using this off time to develop these new platforms they have at there disposal.

KTM was only interested in the name as it's a much more known and established name than Husaberg. The decision was probably a pure marketing stunt and not due to technical reasons.

I agree it will be interesting to see what GasGas will do with the husky tech. And also how much free hands the huskyberg engineers will get.

In my area Beta is not that liked and the ones driving GasGas have alot of technical problems, but Sherco is gaining ground.

Filling the gap left by Husaberg

Or even Derbi,Vor or the the new Portuguese AJP.
If it's European, it's all good.

I'm not looking to replace my 570 but if I was going to I would be looking at the KTM. I understand the bitterness felt by some at the killing off of Husaberg but in reality it happened a few years ago. Most of my 570 is KTM already.
KTM make a really good bike and at the end of the day, that is what I'm after!

The way I look at it Husaberg got its name back and have they improved yes
will I keep my 09 FE 450 yes . I think that 2015 huskys works great
problem with Italian bike is they have unreliable parts supply,
Sherco would be the only niche bike that I would consider
later VIKING

Thats great news BJM and thanks for sharing.

I am still unsure of KTM. I like there street bikes but there dirt bikes are another matter entirely.

David Knight handed his sherco enduro bike back, worse than gas gas build quality!

Hi
Husky should be the natural path for the Berg guy.
For the moment I would not risk my money on any other 4 stroke engine then the KTM, maybe japs but not a big fan, they only see mx.
The GASGAS are very popular here, this days they come to events in greater number then ktm's, but the 2 strokes, you don't see 4 strokes.
The 2 strokes can be a great solution, cheap, easy to maintain, cheap parts, and the 300 with the top suspension works good. It is a very fast bike in the woods.
If I can't get the money for a FE350, the 300 GASGAS will be my option.
Cheers

I have to ask. Is the Beta not openly available in EU? Here in the states it seems to be rather available. I also hear they have the best Dealer's of any manufacture Japanese or not.

Plus, Beta is getting a ton of praise because of there chassis and engines. Just going off of Beta owners and magazine reviewers. I seriously thought Beta was going to be THE next bike.
