Just for fun:

I was sorting through my Husaberg library and noticed the 2005 Service manual showcases a carpenters "claw Hammer".

Fortunately for me such is already a part of my Harley Davidson Tool collection.

Many, many years ago my father told me " Beware the mechanic with a claw hammer" :)

One of the mechanical fitters in my workplace has a claw hammer head welded to the other end of an adjustable spanner. The ultimate multi tool ??

Cheers!!

I get a chuckle out of things like that! Every time I am flipping channels on TV and land on the Discovery channel which almost always has an episode of OCC (Orange County Choppers) on, I see one of those Tuttle's wacking away on a motorcycle with a mallet or hammer and even remember seeing a pry-bar used once to "persuade" a part into alignment! They remind me of a bunch of monkeys when I see them, very rich, but none the less monkeys!

Regards,

Can a Harley mechanic use a hammer? I thought they used there teeth...um..tooth, and chewed parts off there bikes.

Hi Sandskipper,

I have attempted on more than one occasion to watch the OCC show.
I simply cannot do it. :?

Husaberg offers a very nice and well equipped "Factory TooL Kit" of which I am very proud to own.

The "Claw Hammer" picture just struck me as being funny since it graces the 2005 service manual cover.

Best Regards,
Dale

I happen to have not the Husaberg toolkit but the KTM toolkit and it actually sports a beer bottle opener. 8)

I cannot stand the chopper shows on Discovery and other channels, especially the one with the three morons on steroids.

One episode they were in Florida to present their latest creation and the bike would not fire. After 3 door kickings, 5 arguments and 22 beep sounds, they ended up at a tuner's shop where the guy pulled the carbs out, cleaned them, checked the jetting, put the carbs back, and voila, it worked.

christ and i thought it was only us europeans that had to put up with those baboons!

regards

But, their trip to Scotland was pretty cool when they rode around to neat sites on scooters wearing kilts and didn't speak about or work on a Frickin Harley during the entire show. Dale might have even made it through that one.

Yeah I got a glimpse of that one and I still did not recover and yet I have been to many rugby games against Scottish teams and the whole Braveheart attitude is something uncanny. But that was pure snuff.

Sounds like when in doubt just use a bigger hammer. When I first read this I thought of marching claw hammers like in the movie " Pink Floyd, The Wall" . Claw hammers are good for driving nails and such but for use on a bike " no thanks ". They are not made for that any way and to this day I have never seen a wooden bike on the road or trail. I can understand pictures of tools on a shop manual but not a claw hammer. Gives the wrong impression.

That would be an interesting site. Termites would be a major issue.

Taffy is right. OCC is aired almost every night here in Holland. It's brutal, because the show is so bad. Just a bunch of bad actors that can weld, I mean tack weld. The only saving grace of the show is Mikey, who, I am told, had the idea for the show. I wish Discovery channel would bring back weekday wings...
