On the cam sprocket the is a pin used for stopping the auto compression release cam. Has anyone every had a problem with this pin falling out of the sprocket? The pin only looks to be pressed in, if there is a history of this pin falling it may a good idea to TIG weld the back side of the pin.

Has anyone had a problem with this? I have not, but it better to prevent a fire than trying to put the fire out.

faktor had his fall out on his 05 650- damaged his timimg chain, sprocket and rocker cover.

He wasnt happy about it. :x .

Wonder how many other 05- bikes out there might be going to have the same problem????.......

My is a FC550 2001 on my first build , because the single row bearing counter balancer produced little chips that had eating up the piston and cylinder.
So installing the new style sprocket is when I had seen this possible problem. Now if having this stud TIG welded will it wrap or weaken the sprocket. I think I will have it weld and find out.
