Hello, is there a mechanic on the west coast or in the US who can rebuild a 08 motor? I have not found a mechanic who can rebuild a berg motor ? What is the big deal with bergs ? Is there a problem with shops and why can’t a good mechanic rebuild a berg ?
I have several motors with all the parts needed and them some, can anyone help ?

Thanks

Dan is not interested in rebuilding bergs, he has no one who can do the job ? Is there anyone else around who can do them ? He said they are very difficult to do ?

Thanks

Taffy of Taffmeiters knows of a guy in Bend, OR who might be able to help.

I've forgotten the name of the guy, but he's part of a race team.

Contact Taffy who's a regular contributor to this forum and sells aftermarket parts for Bergs out of England.

Yes, I know David aka Taffy and I buy berg parts from motoren-israel aka the berg doctor
To bad it will cost a fortune to send all of the motors to them
Rick bozart was going to build them but went silent and got a job ? This is a problem here in the US a good mechanic can only work on a Honda, ktm or Yamaha ? Only one of them not all of them they call it specialized. They are scared of Sweden motors ? They are to hard for them, wimps
I will see if David knows a guy here. Or yeah, save more money and ship them ?

Bozarth is a great call. You could try to get Lineaweaver to do it, but I think he's busy with electric cars now. To be frank, they are not difficult to rebuild. The manual is pretty good and patience is your friend. Likely hardest part (having patience that is) along with finding certain parts.

can't agree. phuqing nightmare to me. everything needs doing and when its done nobody wants to pay the hours it cost. mind you, i do the job properly. name me a part in a pre-2008 that can't be upgraded, modified or isn't phuqed. then try and get the customer to pay for it.

"I only paid $400 for it"
"I just wanna ride a bit before I spend money on it"
"I just want it to start". they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.
I can't name the number of people who call each week and 'just wnat to get it started' and the more you explain that it'll be many things = the stupider they get.

Indeed, I'm patient. I agree, time it takes others is spendy, and worth it. But you can do it yourself, if you are patient and marginally skilled. Paying truly skilled is faster and worth it.

This right here is the key, and if there were fewer people telling the good mechanics that they should not be paid to do the work that they do, there would be more good mechanics willing to offer the service

( Rick Bozarth (Boss Offroad) in Portland Oregon) You could see if Rick is still working on the bergs.
