Dan, I will go any time! it is only an hour from my house. this paticular trail takes 1.5 hours at a snail pace but you can turn it inot a 4 day adventure if you want. there are A LOT of OHV and M/C trails up here in th ecentral sierra. lots of lakes and rivers as well... just tell me when. I will ride anytime

I made plans with my two brother-in-laws' to go on an overnight ride on the dusy-ershim trail above shaver lake. the trail is a slow, difficult 4WD trail, but on a bike i discovered that it is a fast, challenging, riot!

well my brothers-in law bailed out on me the day we were supposed to go. I was already up in the mountains with my family and had my gear and everything, so decided to break a cardnial rule and go ride by myself.

I decided that I would do a short loop up bald mountain and back and spend some time playing on the 4wd trails. the trail consists of lots of fast fire road, some med speed (for me anyway) rutted out/pot-holed road, lots of short 50-200 yard `challenging rocky hill climbs, sand washes, and LOTS of places to challenge your balance and slow speed riding skills, it also has a considerable amount of granite steps from 6 to 18 inches high. (tire poppers for sure if you are not careful)
the ride was fun the view was spectacular, I had the entire mountain to myself (a bit unnerving becasue it would be a long time before any body was going to miss me should anything happen)

it an awesome place to bring your trailer and camp for a few days and ride right from where you camp. 5000-8000 feet, perfect riding temps from the 70's to 80's I am still discovering all of the single track out there, but there is endless possibilities on the OHV routes

I would love to host anyone who wants to come and ride.

Great photos risky1! Thanks for sharing

As for your brother-in-laws........ :cursin:
