....and Julia has left the building!

just to let you know that Ali is back after a 3 year break, she has called it "unfinished business" and takes over from Julia on Monday.

I'd like to thank Julia who came to me as a 'girl' and a naughty one at that and leaves i feel very much as a mature woman over two years later! she can be really cheeky and gets her way with men customers very easily (and me, I'm a muppet and believe everything too...) but we have done so much more since she joined. we are listing hundreds and i do mean hundreds more items since she started. I think i was on 70 ebay products and now it is over 300 (i restricted her in the end!).

Ali is incredibly bright and will really tidy up the way we do things, she's a computer geek as well. our office is disappearing under rubbish and stock so hopefully, if she can find the chair and pull it up we can get going Monday!

also, i know it's tempting fate but I've got through three mechanics this year but the 4th is here and been here a month, a Lithuanian named; 'Jonas'. he's very good with a high workrate and very bright. it takes a lot to please me but i'm impressed by this fella!

If I could just find a bright apprentice to bring through now and to look after the small stuff like painting, and stcking, and painting some more, more painting....we can teach him some as well of course! :p

6 weeks ago I had no mechanic, Julia was leaving, my self-employed book keeper wanted to go back on the books but i persuaded her to be her only private client still with her) and it all looked very bleak....

I haven't had a day off work since last May, i even worked Boxing Day and the bank holiday the day after. so that was a lie - I had Christmas day off.

so if Ali can run the place and Jonas can soon work on his own i might treat myself soon to a short break!:D:D:D

Argh....the life (no life) of a small businessman.....I know where your coming from....and finding mechanics that care and do a good job are few and far between.
