'99 FE 400 skid plate?

Hey guys-I recently purchased a skidplate from Utah Sport Cycle,nice quality.etc.The problem is that I can't get it to fit. It hits the stock exhaust and does not seem to go flush with the curves or the frame,plus the mounting holes don't line up.I talked to Don and he said it was the first he's heard of a problem.I am sure it is my doing...does anyone out there have some tips for this plate? It is suppose to be for this bike-p/n,descr.,etc.Are there any other skidplate mfg's out there? Thanks.

I bought my skidplate from Utah Sport Cycle, and it fit fine. Since all berg frames are supposedly the same, you either got a defective plate, or maybe you are installing it wrong.

I have a plate from Erick's in Pasadena CA on my 99 FE 501 It fits well

Thanks guys,I figured it might be something I was doing wrong,no matter what angle I tried it would'nt fit.It's still probably my bag.I might try Hakan's supplier.Thanks again.
