650 rod length?

so what are you going to do about it?

this thread is useless without direction, you might as well have said long rods are better and left it at that.

Nothing really?

I'll have a look at what the alternatives are perhaps but I expect little. could increase the rod length in an ideal world by 3mm to 137mm if it was possible? this would raise compression as well. but these engines are getting old now and my advice recently has been to 'take it easy'.

I guess a really thick iron liner would be stronger, one that encroaches into the water jacket like mine but with only a 100mm bore

you need to get a heap of money for free, have some 102mm pistons made up with minimal compression height say 8mm  then a longer rod to suit and a thick iron liner with cooling fins.

I found it interesting that the 250s have bigger rod ratios than the 450s

i thought we said they had a smaller AR than the 450s?

8mm? 8mm over the pin? you can't have a piston tip over Bushie. there is no thrust face above the oil ring so a piston will tip over just like if you stand on a three legged chair and stand near the edge between legs...

'everything in moderation' is what my old WW2 matlow 'car cleaner' used to say....had nothing to do with motor engineering but a bloody good idea all the same!

NO! you wrote that,

another misinterpretation of solid results?

look is it possible maybe you are missing something with the 644 liners ?

weed doesn't have any issues with his liner, if Dr_C had had any he would have let you know in this thread,

very small comp height on the piston is possible Taffy i'll let you work out whose done it allready
