Hello all -
i just bought a 2003 Husaberg fe400 e. - only 50 hours on it.

Brought it my shop to replace the battery, did so and fired right up with electric start. Parked it, and the next day i had no spark.
-plug is good
- stator makes voltage
- cdi box- well its super clean and undamaged

my thoughts are coil failure. I pulled my harness apart and inspected, no issues, I even added a battery ground to the main harness ground.

Id love some feedback on what to do- or where to source a new coil from.

stator has likely gone. your not meant to measure the voltage. its the ohms you're meant to measure.

red to black 2,750 ohms. you'll likely have NADA.

Well i wish i had seen this response sooner.. :(..... I said f it. Ordered a new CDI coil updated assembly. Guess what fuckers, still no spark, who says being a seasoned mechanic is worth ****, lol.... Fellow tech and I have gone through the wiring fine tooth comb, Still NOOOO spark
- kill switch- good
-battery and starter- Good
- All grounds- Good
- Relay and fuses Good
Ill add that i have no spark on kick and none on E start, just thought id mention that as many on this forrum have mentioned Kick gives spark and E does not, Weird, not sure i understand that.

Then i read TAFFY'S Expert comments, and i never have found the Stater resistance test procedures, So that was a big Help.

Then My Multi-meter packs it in... BALLS.

Taffy ill be checking the stater resistance tomorrow, if its NADA,
Can you tell me where to order a new stater From???

here it is fella!

sorry to hear that. one last thing. next time you do this, just connect the three stator wires to the three that matter on the coil/I.M unit. then make sure the orange cannot earth on anything as it is the kill button wire. that way you kept your wiring for a spark to a minimum.

I am in need of a coil for my 2005 FE400. Can someone point me in the right direction?
 
I know this is an oldish post, but I have the exact same bike, same year model everything. The same exact problem as well. I picked it up for 500$ and then took it to a ktm/husky dealer and he charged me 300$ to tell me it's broken. Anyways, I bought a new CDI module and cant figure out how to mount it, but I got it to the point where it should work, but still not getting spark. I replaced the stator, battery, almost everything. Still don't run, but I lined up someone who guarantees he can tell me what is wrong with it for 100$. I would just like to know what you did to yours, and if you got it fixed.

I am in desperate need of a CDI unit for my 2001 fe400e! I sure hope you still have these parts because I can not for the life of me find anything anywhere else!
