2003 FE501 rebuild

Excellent job. Spraying the stator with synthetic enamel is interesting. It looks like it was rewound?

Hi Kli

That was an excellent idea that I recommend to every one, I've done that with a similar spray and I'm very happy ... no rust ;)

Thank You

Could you use that special electrical paint on say wire connections before you plug them together to reduce or eliminate any corrosion? Battery terminals?

Does it reduce current flow in any way?

Husabutt unfortunately paint can't be used before connecting things together as paint is electrical insulator and will completly stop current flow.
After connecting things and ensuring good connection you can paint outside of terminal.

Maybe before painting you can try grease them, it will also protect your terminals from rust, but also don't grease connecting point of terminal as normal grease is also kind of insulator.

we used to use a red grease around the battery terminals called simply enough: 'Holts Battery Grease' - I think!

Hi worstin,

As i saw 1016 is more yellow going to bit sulphur.
I will put you pictures after weekend, at the moment im not close to bike.

Hi Worstin,

here is a few pictures of yellow details.
if you are planning to do it, ask local laquirer for color mix based on scan, it's really much more accurate, almost 100%, you can see I marked where is taken scan.

Scan place, cleanest part of front fender ;)
