2001 501FE cam chain timing

The Husaberg mechanic tell me that it is not something they can explain over the phone but yes indeed there were some that did not come with timing marks but there was a diagram on how to do it but no one seems to be able to find it. I will contact another dealer and see if I have the option of buying new gears that have marks on them and maybe that will be the answer,

Look in the doc for the picture in section 16.3
My old 470 did not have any timing mark either. You will have to remove the nuts holding the gears on to see where the keyway is located at in the gears and then count the teeth to install your own marks.
 
Finally received my head back after being repaired.
I updated cam gear new cam chain lower cam gear and new FCR carb replacing the Dellorto. put in new starter and fixed the torque limiter and she is alive. she will now start fist kick and better yet one quick touch of the e button and it will come to life almost instantly. My KTM 525 would not start as easily as this will now.
