Just picked up a '96 FE 501 with no spark for a good price, Ive read every post I can find on here about no spark and I think I understand what I need to look for even without a voltage meter. My main question is finding a cheap stator that I can test it out and see if its works before I drop the couple hundred bucks on a new one. Any one on here in western slope Colorado and want to help out? Or where I can get one locally with a good return policy if that happens to not be the issue.

thanks guys.

Hello Grim

its simple mate. get a multimeter. measure the ohms between red and black. no reading = you need another one!

simple as. do you really expect people to drive all over your state when you can't buy a multimeter off ebay?

that's like me calling my GF through the house to my living room and saying: "ah sweetheart, just pick up the remote and change the channels will you pet?"

get the multimeter fella......

more hoping someone who lives local to me and knows what they are doing or just knows about bergs could help me work on it as this is my first one, I pick up the bike and a multimeter tomorrow morning.
