1991 Husaberg FE350 with 600 motor

sounds like you're chasing your tail.
you said the red stator gave you a spark before. stick with it.
the voltage regulator has nothing to do with it.
look closely at the plug wire.
disconnect the orange kill switch wire.
are you using the right kicking technic?
patience, grasshopper.
stick with it.

The red one did give me a spark and now I dont get a spark anymore. DO you know the right readings i'm supposed be getting with the stator? I just want to triple check. Im also worried about the sparkplug unit (not the spark plug) because the wire came off the cap a few times.

if you have the L bar on the front right hand corner of the rocker cover I would get myself the hand pulled decomp and perch that goes on the left bar. this is all you need. the kickstart decomp is useless IMHO. I'm not sure BTW, which years have the bkkickstart decomp.

we do a cable and perch.

another thing you can do is put a cam in from a 2000-2005 KTM RFS engine and it'll have an automatic decompressor on the cam. even better! all it will need is the complete KTM assembly and a steel Husaberg sprocket from 2002-2008.

if you never set up the handlebar decomp with a cable and perch it will be hard to kick properly.
my old 600 estart was a 98 and didn't have it, and i'm glad i rarely had to use the kickstart. it was a bear to get properly placed after tdc for a decent kick.
the sparks stator rebuilds were very reliable. i doubt that's your problem. black to red 1750 ohms, black to grn 23 ohms + or - 10%

I don't know what experience you have of it ned but I can tell you that finding the right place to kick from with the kickstart decomp fitted is, as you say, a nightmare!

we get rid of the kickstart decomp, fit the sledge mod and the cable to the bars. then you simply hit 'the wall' push it over slowly (as you know) and then fire it!

the sledge mod on bikes up to 2001 or with the old kickstart shaft are worth their weight in gold!

have you seen this Ned?

we have done nothing to the top end and the leccy boot makes it look easy on this 1998 FE600e Elduro.

i just watched the video. very nice fe600e. was the idle set a bit high? power off the bottom on the one i had was sketchy at best with stock jetting, even when fairly new. hard to ride in tight woods. glad to see you mostly stayed out of camera range.

well I'm shortly going to boldly go.....

I'm doing some experiments with dell orto needles, atomisers, nozzled atomisers, slide cutaways.

the UK PJ for that one is 35, the US is 40 I believe but this has a 38. but it also has a DR270 when in the UK it should have had a DR268.

Finally had time to get to checking the stators, the red stator has 1895 ohms from black to red and 22.8 from black to green. Then i also checked other factory stator and thats 1700 black to red and 22.5 black to green.

Im still not getting a spark though :furious:

So KTM just emailed me and told me the part is no longer available :( Taffy, you said you sell them?

I'm checking as we speak. I have asked my contact if he has anymore left and then other follow on questions.

back soon

Taffy

Yes I am talking about one of those, also need the spark plug harness to go with it.
