i want my bike to sound that it has balls and some more performance. i dont have the money to spend on a new akrapovic pipe. which model of ktm exhausts will fit onto the berg??

do the end cap mods really work???

cheers

Quiet is what makes it so awesome....sneaking around in steath mode is great.

which end cap brands are good to have a look at?? i have seen the barrett one. has anyone run this on their 09? were are the gains?? id like a little more bottom end.

Hi mate

You can mod the standard one - just buy the KTM version.

If you want more bottom end drop a tooth off the front or add a couple on the rear. Or buy the Akro.

This is one bike I am leaving the stock silencer on. I ride it almost solely off-road (only ride on roads to get to the off-road area) and I want it to be as quiet as possible. If I want a loud bike I get on my Ducati (open Staintune exhaust) and I want to get some good sounding db killers for it because it is too loud (when I go by people they plug their ears).

The stock silencer doesn't sound bad either - the exhaust note is surprisingly smooth for a single. It is the intake noise that is loud - at least to me while I am riding it, I don't know what it sounds like to bystanders.

I have the barret endcap on my 09 450,It is still pretty quiet, quieter than any of my mates bikes! Would be a little louder with the spark screen removed. as for performance, def pulls through the top end better, bottom end hasnt changed that much. I would gear down for amore immediate efect on torque! Make sure you get instructions with it if you buy it, can be confusing to fit without, awesome quality billet though!

thanks for the reply. im starting to do some enduro events and thier picky on noise so i might wait but the barrett end cap might be the way to go.
cheers

sorry for digging this thread up from the past, but it was better than starting a new thread on the same thing.

Just got a Barret slip-on, and fitted it today. It looks mean - black pipe with blue tip - and sounds freaking awesome! it slipped straight on, with no hassles. Except the spring, that thing is a bitch.

In theory, i should get a bit more bottom end power. Barret have power charts for various bikes with their exhaust vs. standard, but no '09 fe450. the exc450 (basically the same engine as the berg, right??) gets a few extra hp out of the slip on, and the curve is slightly higher at lower revs compared to the stock. So it should go alright. Will post a more detailed report on sunday when i get back from louee.

I fair reccomend these guys, as my housemate got the full system for his klx450 (adds about 5hp) for 800, as well as a lot of helpful advice (he's fairly skittish about buying stuff online), and even jet settings! The stuff only took 2 days to get here aswell, which isnt too bad.

Hi!

Just fitted a KTM SXF 250 (2011-2012) silencer/muffler onto my 2011 Husaberg FE450 so what is stated above is indeed correct. Part number 77105079000. It will save you 400gr or so as well and sound was quieter then I expected. Like stated many times before there is a massive reduction in heat although I installed on par with an EFK.

Cheers!
