just bought a yam yzf 450 went down the road on it and its an "ANIMAL" Its a 2004 4 speed and it wheelies in all gears and its so aggressive i dont know if its the right way to go???
the berg is so smooth and controlable but the yam is just in your FACE.
but i think it has a problem you start it and with in seconds the down pipes are redhot?? is there anything wrong with it??? or is that normal? my son has a yzf 250 but to be honest ive never noticed it on his??

look for a serious air leak on the inlet manifold.

otherwisae, it's mechanical. could get technical but it's a bit OTT>

My yzf glows the header red hot idling. Especially if slightly dark out, it is very noticable. Yes totally normal. Fun bikes eh? I kept my yz because it is a very light, fun trail machine. Not to mention, when I smash up my berg on the rocks, I need a back up bike. My berg does a lot of things well, more than the yz.

i had a wr450 before.. now i`m on a fs650e, and the 450 is like a childs toy compared to my new bike :D

i wondered what would happen if i gear down my fs, to 450 specs, but i dont think i`ve got the guts haha.. It would be reeeal scary..

love the aggressive power it has. love wheelies and belive me it does it with ease in all 4 gears.
will get camera out the weekend and do a bit of filming for youtube i live to wheelie!!!!

Hej.
You will do a backflip when you are going to change the 5 valves, they are not cheap.
about 800 euros here in Sweden ;-) and it`s soon time for that on a 2004.
But they are real beast`s and really fun to drive, good luck.
