Hi Whosah,
My second bike is a KTM250EXC-F 2008 and for a little motor it rips! After riding bigger motors for so long except for the old FE350 I started on in 1995, I finally had the chance to ride a 250 now being a KTM dealer (as well as Berg...of course) it is nimble and fast as long as you stay on the gas and my shoulders feel better at the end of the day.
Best Regards
Sutto

RXV 5.5 then ATK Intimidator 700 then Cr500 with supercharged Yamaha R1 engine all running Teraflex 150- 90 or scat trac paddles.
Each to their own. I ride on beaches, dunes and soft sand tracks.
Cheers
Bushy

2nd

2nd choice would be the updated 500 Maico from Germany. Got to ride an old one once in the desert, and still haunts me. Then again, maybe the 700 intimidator, would have to try it.

I would probably still be on a 2 stroke, most likely a GasGas 250/300 Ohlins, or a TM 250/300. I like 250f's, but worry about cost of ownership, TM is the fastest and most durable, the KTM XC250f is a delightful bike (I don't know of anyone that has ridden one and NOT liked it) and readily available. The new KTM 250/300 2T's are very nice too. As far as 4 strokes go, If I was buying today, I would go to my local dealer (a very good offroad dealer) and buy an RM-Z 450 and set it up for woods (it really doesn't need much).

I rode one of the new 380 Maico enduros 4 or 5 years ago, it was a nice bike.

My second choice would be a zero-wrenching adventure bike like a KLR 650 or the GS 650 my neighbor keeps mint and unscratched in his garage (which is easy for him since he does not ride it, the criminal).

Regarding SM, second choice would be Husqvarna SMR 510.

Regarding "other" bike, I`m in search ... test rode Tuono and SuperDuke (more than once). Must try S2R 1000!

would be a tough call, but in the mix would be a KTM 620 Adventure, a 300exc, a Husky WR250, and wouldnt mind havin a crack at one of those Yamaha 350 2T twin pot Raptor Quads.

Azza.
