You're right, BMG is in Canada.....somewhere! But that makes it perfect, you go on our excellent welfare program, get goverment funding to develop your products and to create jobs, and BOOM! BMG is paying you!!

Hi Grok,
Happy to hear all is good.

I still have fight in me, however, I do concede to having grown weary regarding Husaberg. In the future I shall choose my battles more wisely. I am not getting any younger you know. :D

Sorry, I don't do welfare US or otherwise. In my personal opinion the end does not automatically justify the means. Of course you already new such was to be my reply as we two have haunted this site for many years. LOL

Be well.

Sincerely,
Dale

I am thinking Husaberg is becoming a Jaguar old style sports tool for older men with the dollar.
Tell me I am wrong.
Please...

I haven't read this whole thread, so I don't know what is or isn't the point here, but even though I am an older easy going rider who can afford nice bikes, that is not why I bought the Fe450e. I know enough about off road riding and have test rode many bikes. If I was young and a regular weekend racer, I would still want a Husaberg. The damn thing is the lightest E start bike and VERY Fast. Now I suppose if I was really young I would be anti E start and want to save the weight. The bike kick starts so easy, I would strip out the E start. But for serious enduros you want that E start..so I would buy the Husaberg. I don't find the Jap MX bikes that well suited to off road racing, especially enduros and harecrambles

let me try and explain it this way. I did not buy the Fe450e because I can afford it or wanted a "cool euro" bike. I bought it for the performance. I don't know any husaberg owners who bought the bike thinking it was a jaguar old man bike.........we all bought it because it's a HOT bike. Hot performer, light weight, FAST, great ergos, suspension all that. The bike world is competitive......just because I'm old n slow doesn't mean I want a cruisng slide and glide jaguar in my garage. I want a corvette/porsche and that's what I bought.

I haven't read this whole thread

Hi Bob,
You may want to read the entire thread. Or not. LOL

Hope you are doing well.

Kind Regards,
Dale

Did you test ride a Husaberg prior to making your purchase?
If so, what year and model?

If applicable, what did you like about said Husaberg that prompted you to take the plunge?

Just curious is all.
IE How did you determine what you liked?

Kind Regards,
Dale

no the Husaberg was the one bike I had not test rode. I knew I wanted some 450 or the KTM 400...as my second bike, looking for a little less power in woods situations actually I had rode all the 450s and the KTM 400, I was really thinking of that. Then I was Bsing with dan at Motoxotica one day and he could sense I was getting serious about owning a second bike.so he pulls out his new 06 Fe550e and has me sit on it. I was just sitting really not even thinnking Husaberg. It felt real good. I got home and researched the bike, remembered the Dirt rider article how it was light, found out the 450 was a 1.7 Bore/Stroke ratio WOW I liked that short stroke and the wide ratio tranny which different then my close ratio husky. So a week later I asked dan does it kick start easy he said YES, then I got a quote and talked with KTM there new 06 bikes were stuck in route due to katrina............ Dan said he could get me a 06 Fe450e is 7 days.........I trust Dan. so i bought it...simple as that. Now I'm a big fan. I ride the berg in the woods and the husky in the big open areas

I found the bike power band to be very Linear...electric sewing machine and all......I knew I liked it on day one but not loving it yet, but it was the praise I got from like the first 7 friends that I let ride it, that really kind of helped sink in my head that I had this really cool bike..............Then I took it to Foresthill like the 5th weekend I had it. It was at Foresthill where My Te-510 always felt too big. I know the FH trails like the back of my hand and on the FE450e I was 20% faster easy. Every one noticed how fast I was. the bike was so light it was like flicking an mx bike or a two stroke down the trails...........It was then I really became a HUGE fan of husaberg.

Months later when I rode Celtic dudes 05 Fe550 in the desert it felt just like my bike but more power.

basically I wanted QUALITY components, performance enduro bike. I picked the Husaberg. got what I wanted. Now I would not even consider a 450x or WRF or the 450 EXC or XC with no spark arrestor.........I still like the KTM 400 exc, but like my FE450 e better. I still like the Husqvarna Te450 and 510 too. in a couple years I'll be thinking of new again........Husaberg will always be in my top list given the great bike I own now.

boring story probably but you asked.......I'm a plain milk toast weekend warrior who has riden all the bikes and thinks this berg is very sweet.

Great reply BB!
The bottom line "customer satisfaction".
Thank you for taking the time to lay it out.
Sincerely,
Dale

Milk Toast

(2 servings) Printable Version

4 slices of toast
4 pats of butter
1 tsp cinnamon and sugar
1/2 cup milk
Heat milk on low.

Butter toast as you usually would and sprinkle each piece with cinnamon and sugar. Tear the toast into bite-sized pieces and place in two cereal bowls.

Pour hot milk over toast pieces.

In the early 1900s, Milk Toast was popular fare for children and the ailing. It is still popular today among poor families and singles.

I want to clarify my statement concerning Jaguars.

Jaguar has a racing heritage. HERITAGE. True, there were some recent attempts in Formula 1, but I fail to see any technology transferred into the Ford V8 of today´s Jaguar. So I am not impressed. Some older men are though.

I believe it is dangerous to rely too heavily on a glorious past if you are in the business of selling racing- or race inspired products. That is why the factory WEC presence is crucial.
I do however have doubts the experiences from racing gets the full attention by decision makers.

Who decided on the one-size-fits-all bore size of 100mm you think?
Engineers or Bean Counters? Here, let me whisper it to you....
Hint: Shouldn´t a 1.7 Bore/Stroke ratio be "perfect" in a 650 Competiton Motard as well as a 450?
Hint: A 380cc piston/liner kit soon available to the joy of woods racers? Really?

Why is it BAD to discuss improvements?
Self-criticism is more constructive than bad-mouthing brands that WIN RACES.

I also see a basic simple function of losing future sales to a generation who only knows of the Big 5 because they lack interest in history.

It´s Race or Jaguar.

We´re getting older, guys.

Gosh, where would be be without Dale's wonderful pearls of wisdom?

Let's all thank the lord we have him helping us.

Allupinya, consider taking it easy on Dale before he goes postal.

He has lots of experience with the pre-2003 model Husabergs and may be a good resource to you someday if your late 90's Berg goes klunk.

my vote is this thread goes away
Hey, lets have a official UHE hate thread.
Let people get it out of their system.
Dale bashing really just befouls our husaberg enjoyment.

Well, "Dale's bashing" is what most of us consider "Positive criticism"

That, my friend, is quite often the spark for progress.

Dale is one of the reason for our Husaberg enjoyment through his insight and knowledgable posts.

Dear Heimir.
I´m not quite sure you fully understand the meaning of the term "bashing". I think you misunderstood SFO who is a friend of Dale.

Bashing:
- To beat or assault severely: The police arrested the men who bashed an immigrant in the park.
- Informal. To criticize (another) harshly, accusatorially, and threateningly: “He bashed the...

Indeed. Unfortunately some people here interpret any criticism or dissent as a personal attack and go bonkers.

Dale is one reason for our enjoyment of the Husaberg brand but not the only reason, althought he might think so. There are many other old and new Husaberg/UHE contributors worthy of our thanks. I say thank you to everyone who participates.

I believe the term SFO was looking for here was "Dale Roasting", a popular pastime in the early nineties.

So everyone has an idea of who they're talking to:

SM610, Supertireguy and Allupinya have all posted from the same IP on the same day. This means that they have shared the same connection during their posts. Allupinya posted once from a blind server in Norway and once from the Czech republic, but there was a slip up where he posted from the same IP as SM610 and Supertireguy on the same day.

After receiving this information, it seems kind of silly that stg would have to post this to allupinya, when ip records state that he could simply reach over and tap him on the shoulder.

STG last logged on with this IP today at 3:27pm
ALL last logged on with this IP today at 3:23pm

You guys can do the math from here on out.

I will say this. If you guys continue the childish ********, I will shut the forum down so fast, it will make your head spin.

thanks,
