Yes it seems wrong. Checked another meter even changed batteries very humid in Brisbane today if it matters
Unless I’m doing something wrong

what are the readings in ohms from
red to black?
green to black?

cheers

Taffy
Hey,

Sorry, little problem with the multimeter it took me a while to reply.

I have 3 stators, one is an electrex, brand new, from : Allumage electronique de haute qualité au meilleur prix

Then the two others are SEM, i got a fs and a fse version.

Electrex :

Green to black : 139 Ohms

Red to black : 2829 Ohms

Original SEM ( race version ) :

Green to black : 170 Ohms

Red to black : 2949 Ohms

Original SEM ( Street version )

Green to black : 169 Ohms

Reed to black : 49000 Ohms

I suppose that the FSE ( street ) rotor is out of order.

yes the street one has had it. although the green to black on the electrex is a little low, i would expect it to be OK.

as for your Ignition Module being opened by you; what posessed you to do that? If all you did was take the plastic backing off then it can be re-potted easily enough.

No I probably killed it
Not sure if you can fix it
I’ll send to you next month

Thanks
Darren

well I have to send it abroad and even as a dead I.M; sometimes I pay import duty and then people have to pay for the return of it.

I had a Yank once send one over and I sent it off. I said $40 to here. he said 'I want it back'
I said well that's gotta come back from abroad to me and from me to you? really??
he said yes
I said then it'll be $60
...........and that was the last i heard from him. I lost $40.

If you've tampered with it you have only a small chance of it being repaired I warn you now.

Hello Robzerg,

Any luck with your bike?

I have had a good outcome on mine, magnets on the flywheel were not strong enough.
Have had a used one delivered from in Greece which has substantially stronger magnets and yes now a strong spark with bike firing up instantly.

So, I would be looking at flywheel as well as electrics.

Thanks
Darren.

interesting. over the years many people have qurestioned the magnets and most have had other issues. but now you reckon that's all you did and that is a straight comparison is it?

Taffy

Yes
After purchasing new CDI and coil also stator there was no spark with original flywheel
And then change of flywheel, on the electric starter with no choke bike starts.

Interesting,

your Greek freewheel was strictly the same model as the original one? It's just that it was in better condition, with better magnets?

I'm currently looking into it with an electronics engineer friend who wants to build me a new CDI, ... we'll see if it's conclusive I'll share the results 😗
