Hi!

I am finishing my bike and I am about to change original clutch for Adler/Husaberg slipper clutch for my FS650 [emoji3526][emoji1317]. Do I need this part that is listed in the installation manual or can I make due with something else / similar / from other bikes ? I suppose it is just the small pin nmbr 4 in the picture ?

Thanks for any help that leads to me changing the clutch [emoji2957][emoji6][emoji1303][emoji1317]

we hold them. I never used them, the gear teeth are so strong I put a 17mm bolt 15mm long in but sideways so that as you look at the left side the bolt thread and head can be seen. it also fits beautifully between the crankcase wall that faces the front and the primary gear. sits at 10 o clock.

just an idea

Or, if you have a broken gear, you can just cut it up and fab the tool.

I tried this, without the little handle so that you press down as you tighten/loosen; the gear jumps out!

now you might be brave enough to stick your hand in and try and jam down a bit of gear but I couldn't be paid enough!!! I keep my hands by my sides on those occasions!

cheers

the actual clutch holding tool isn't shown. I can't recall whether - even then - with that factory tool, that it will hold a slipper clutch. perhaps others know? the clutch holding tool is a circular steel ring with the teeth facing inwards and outwards to lock the entire assembly while torqueing the centre nut.

as for welding a rod to a piece of hardened steel gear; good luck!

for the slipper (adige) it comes with it's own "holder" bolts which, if you lock the motor up at tdc, you don't need the clutch holding tool. With the stm, I don't remember needing the clutch holding tool either. In any event, the gear piece tool isn't necessary for that. #4 is for holding the gears while lining up the clutch basket (or, at least that is why I use it) during a rebuild. I also welded a post to the piece gear, like Raenero suggested. Ended up acquiring the factory gear piece so, it is just a backup. I've never used a Suter (though I understand they are the best of the lot). YMMV

I had a friend make a “bolt” for me - M17x15mm but with head as long as the bolt , 15mm - but I can’t see where or how I am to use it?
