Hi guys,

I have followed everyone's advice on here so far and have managed to make my 2002 FE650 start on the second / third kick.

It is kick start only and I but has the Sprague bearing and everything in the crank case (assumably a previous electric start then stripped).

I have found this loom for sale and just wanted to check if it has everything I need (I have the headlight to brake light wiring with the stator, SEM CDI and regulator).

All I am intending to use on this loom is all electric start related components but the colours don't match the wiring diagram!

Can anyone see anything missing apart from the mentioned above (and the headlight plug as this is missing also)?

Any help is appreciated guys, thanks in advance!

For some reason the images didn't upload, sorry guys...

Hey Fraser.
Which wires dont match the diagram?
Looks like you have all the wires needed for starter but its tricky moving the pc to the workbench for direct comparison.

you have double brown and a double red/white going into the reg/rec which I've never seen before. it also has an aftermarket left-hand switchgear. It will probably work.

you have a blue/white & red/black 2-pin socket. that is the take off from the solenoid to the Ignition Module.

Hi Both,

Thanks for the reply

I has the kick start loom so I might just nick the good bits off and use on my loom.

I can't either get this loom thats been adapter a bit or a complete stock one off a FE400 2002, do you think it will just be simpler to buy the FE400 stock loom?

Oh and the wires that didn't add up were the ones that Taffy pointed out really.

I wasn't too sure what the brushed aluminium component was next to the 2 pin connection that Taffy mentioned.

I'm guessing its the starter relay?

if your refering to the silver thingy with the rubber around it, thats your inicator flasher.

if you download the wire diagram from this site you can identify your components and which wires you no longer need (indicator/lights) for removal (if thats your thing).

sweet as Fraser.
Asking is a good way to learn.

I am in the process of restoring the same bike so those are easy questions.

Plans?
Clearly you dont know me......

A bloke I know was too cheap to buy a local bike that was good to go, so instead he imported the cheapest one he could find in U.K.

previous owner broke the camchain (twice by the two repairs to the rocker cover) threw it back together with fingers and new tech (top cam chain guide bolt was glued in with newtech which also sealed the cracks in the head).
oil dribbling out the cracked sidecover, reused bent camchain and chunked sprokets, crank and balancer nuts were finger tight etc.
An absolute bomb.

bloke wanted an electric leg fitted (original removed) so have since sourced all the missing bits and am reassembling slowly to make all work again.

Bloke coulda been riding a year ago if he had not been so cheap.

Hope the question was for me Fraser.
