im confused
im trying to get a strong spark from fx470 2001 model
as i dig more to find info about the stator resistance reading more i confused.
some places said between red and black wires i need to have 1.5k ohm and another place its 3k ohm so who is the right?
what i have right now its 1.5k ohm and i think its wrong because the spark is very week.

red to black

the 1989-1998 stator wants 1,750 if I recall and the 1999-2003 wants 2,700 plus. between 2,700 and 3,000 is a good figure.

the earlier model green to black is just 23 ohms and the on the later it is 165 ohms.

On my Husaberg FC550 2001, I had the same problem, very weak spark. My stator was reconditioned, the flywheel mag where in great shape. So was last was to open the CDI/coil. I found the high voltage lead to the spark plug burnt at a copper pin in the CDI/coil. I installed new copper wire high voltage lead and soldered the copper lead to the pin. I have had no more problems with the weak spark. But now my flywheel mag are starting to crack a little. But she still starts and runs well. Maybe Taffy can recondition your CDI/coil.

I can certainly do that Mars. But that shouldn't detract from him looking at the right things in the right sequence!

one of the biggest problems with the FC is that people forget to lay the stator on an alloy ring in the stator cover.

Taffy,
Is the stator aluminum spacer applicable for a 2000 FC 501 as well?

is this spacer also need for the 470? i dont have it and im using an after market stator

I don't know Avi.? I don't know what that stator looks like. the thing to remember about an FC stator is that it is so thin it doesn't get into the middle of the flywheel. It might not be the stators fault though because despite what I just said, the next thing to remember is that the flywheel isn't very tall either!

...it doesn't come out from the crankcases so far! I have a brand new FC flywheel here and used FE flywheels with which I could take a photo.

I attach a photo of a very thin FC stator....

now i've shown you mine you can show me yours! ;);)

well basically that is a FE stator inside an FE flywheel so you don't have a problem.

not the greatest angle for a photo but i'm [pretty sure that that's a deep flywheel.

what will be the right position of the stator inside the cover? there is no indicators at all

Taffy,

Do you have the stator spacer for the FC’s ?

I was looking at ordering one, but your store says no longer available or something....

yes I have one Vor, would you email me please? I accept emails, calls, FB, skype but I can't patrol twitter and every web site. I'm an email hugger. Oh and I forgot texts. and mobile calls.

Avi; yes, I do. you too should email me.

cheers

Taffy
