I heard that the Behrs are stronger but also a little heavier.
To me they seem like a beefy construction more durable and not prone to
bend as easy as others.
The excels are a very good choice also though.

Today I got me rear rim !!!!!!!!
Excel found it used in really good straight top condition and cheap price.
These wheels go for top money :ninja:

17 X 5 inch , cush hub and almost ready to rock.

Good find, Petros! Pollo PM'd me about a similar wheel that's on eBay right now, but it's in Israel, and my desire to import a wheel is fairly low.

There's a really killer shop that does custom spokes for whatever application you have, based here in Southern California. They're called Buchanan Spokes, and they're one of the first hits on a Google search.

Their prices seem reasonable, so I may do a bit more legwork and make my next wheel a selected coupling of a cush hub and a nice solid rim. Maybe Excel, maybe other. I'm not going for the Alpina because I didn't wake up this morning and piss money. I just took a piss. Like everyone else.

After all that work, I was able to get the rear rim assembled back the way I purchased it, and adjusted the offset to where I needed it to clear the chain.

Getting the tire warmers on is a bit of a chore because of how little clearance there is. Kinda wish I'd thought that through a little better....

Overall, I really like the results! The white rims are EXACTLY what this bike needed, IMHO.

The downside is that the rear tire loses air because the bead isn't seated properly, and I think I stripped out both of the aluminum valve stems I put in place. I was dorking with tire pressure all day. I'd come back to the bike after sitting for an hour, and the rear was dead flat. Ah well, the project continues.
