Tps setting closed throttle setting

i own a husaberg 570 FE 2012
i was experiencing alot of flame outs and under power issues
long story short it turns out the tps was out of adjustment
using a multimeter i checked what it was set at it read .408v in the closed throttle position so i done alot of digging around to find out what it is supposed to be and had no luck so i got the correct stock setting
.601v at closed throttle
all my problems disappeared once i adjusted it to around that a little over is better than under
the tps is know to bump around and lose its position because its only held in by one screw
a hard knock will put it out of adjustment worth checking if your having problems
 
Can you go into any more detail on how you adjusted it? pictures perhaps? and how did you find the correct closed throttle position setting?

Hi On the tps there is a plug with 3 wires You want the yellow and black wire
While its all plugged in using sewing pins push into the wire so you can connect the multimeter to read the values
the black lead goes on the black wire and the red lead goes on the yelow wire On the meter select the minimum dc setting so it can read less than 1volt in detail should look like 0.000 depending on the multimeter
Now once its all connected tap the start button to get the power on you should now see what it reads
To adjust it you lossen the screw on the tps and turn it anticlockwise to make the values go up and clockwise to come down you may have to keep taping the start button to keep the power up to it while you adjust it or you can do it running but not advised because its so sensitive
it changes even doing the screw back up
Im going playing around with it again later theis week instaling jd jetting efi tuner ill take photos then and post here showing what i mean
and about the way the wires are conected its the only way i could do it as i have not found the plugs to make a connection lead between the tps and the wireing harness
 
In regards to the correct tps setting i found out from ktm mechanic making out i had the breakout kit and said i purchased a new tps for my bike and was wanting to know what the setting was because the instructions it came with did not have the stock setting To be sure i rang 3 different stores and got the same results
 
If the value is less than 0.601 what is happening is when mine was 0.408 at idle when you open the throttle the fuel injector wont give any more fuel to the engine untill the tps has gone past 0.601 hence causing flame out high air ratio not enough fuel
Even though the stock setting is 0.601 i set mine at 0.630 it has made it a little rich at idle but has made the throttle more responsive
It works for me

If you can put up some more info when you fit the JD tuner that would be great. I think my FS570 could definitely use a TPS adjustment i just wasn't sure how to go about it until i saw this thread. Little nervous about pushing sewing pins into the wiring though haha! is there another way to do it?

I bought a used one of these and it is fun to play around with after I got it working... The thing was full of sand and corrosion when I bought it. I fixed frayed wires and siliconed the entire perimeter inside and out... It is not waterproof!!

It actually got me out of a bad situation once. I bought a used fuel pump which had been sitting dry for a bit. When I installed this fuel pump, the filter inside the tank must've dislodged some fibers which were sent to the filter in the injector. The bike kept running leaner the further I went. I just kept upping the fuel output on the tuner. I didn't make it all the way home but it got me out of the woods before the bike ran so lean that she wouldn't even start.
 
Not really you can buy the brakeout kit if you can find one cost about $2000 i cant justify the spend
 
Only the yellow wire is the one you need to put the needle in you can take the black lead to the negative on the battery so you are only touching one wire
The black lead on the tps is only ground anyway
 
Cool cheers mate, im having a small cold start issue and some flame outs so was thinking TPS adjustment. Hopefully its an easy fix i'll get one of these tools and check it out..still interested in seeing how you setup your JD tuner though! in particular how you mount it will be interesting.
 
OK here we go i have pics now looking at that tool now makes the way iv done it look bodgie oh what the heck iv ordered one now im waiting fr the post man :) on the multimeter that says 3.877 is full throttle
0.605 is my closed throttle because i installed my jd efi tuner i put it back to stock well close enough

the instructions i have included here are the correct instructions for the fuel injected husabergs page under recommended power surge settings (mode light numbers)
i installed the unit behind the front numberplate above the headlight 1 its the best spot for it IE quick access hidden and protected some what lol where else could i put it
i tell you what though you think the 570 is a wheelie machine stock standard get ya hand on one of these power delivery is so crisp you can feel the torque no low end bog down and linear power right out of the box and i have not even changed the settings yet
for me it has made my 570 feel like one not just look like one

Update i emailed jd jetting support
To get more information about the tps setting
this is the reply thay gave

To my knowledge the TPS should be at .601v +/- .004v. The tps also effects the ignition timing the tuner is not affecting the ignition timing, only fueling.

The*TPS should still be at the stock setting with the tuner installed.

100% all fuel injected husabergs and ktms im led to believe are supposed to be set to it but even when thay come out of the factory there never right i looked at my mates ktm500 it was the same
