Hi i have exactly the same quad......my shim broke of and went in to the timing gear and messed up the head....unfortunately im in cape town south Africa.....i had to take the old timing gear and head in for engineering.....

my starter doesn't work i think it needs to be rewired. kick-starting is a b**ch

Hi Guys,
I also have a enforcer quad, It's a 600E .It has done very little work as it sat in pallet racking for over 7 years that I know of and I've owned it for about 3 years. It has been set up for dirt track racing ,so is lowered and has slicks to run on oil tracks. I thought I'd do the right thing and drop it to a workshop for a tune and suspension overhaul and I received a phone call 6 weeks later with an apology that they cannot get it to run again.I got it home and found the problem but while it was in the workshop cranking the starter to death it has worn out the starter drive gear inside the cases so no longer has the e-start. I'm trying to find the parts to fix it otherwise I'll need to fit a 650 engine also. The reason for this is that the kickstarter hits the frame and has very limited travel.I have ground down an old kick start off my old 501 but it is not ideal. The quad was near unrideable it has so much power to put through those big fat tyres which just throw roost to the horizon.

Hi

Don't know if this will work, but the newer kicks have a different shape, I have one of those in my 02, maybe with that different shape (not strait) it could clear the frame ???

Just a thought

As from what you described you will need the counterbalance were the Sprague works (maybe) and that other gear that you have access from the outside (it has a cover). That is what is connecting the starter to the engine. (maybe ebay, had one but sold it :( )

I'm looking for that gear that you can fit from the outside Zaga! so if anyone here has one please let me know? :D

the kickstart can be cured by doing the sledge mod which I also sell ready for that year for 20GBP. if the idiots have made the starter slip then this can't be cured without a strip. again, I have a cure for this too! I'd stick to the 600 - very light and a 3 x world 500MX title winner more or less!

regards

Taffy

Hey guys, I have the gear which is accessible from the outside - no problems there, I'm certain it's the sprague deep inside ! - I have fitted a new sledge and should have the later model kickstart within the week so will let you know if it clears the frame.
