i drilld a hole a litle smaler than the silver screw that i have fitted and i cooled the screw down and heated the hole and pressed it in (screw had flatt topend and no thread at the top beneth the screwhead ) as is got to the same tpemrature it wher solid stuck so the contact is probobly as good atleast when te part is cool when heated i dont know yet..

if it isent any good when hot il open and solder it in place . and if that dont work il gladly give it to taffy for free

but it seems to b e mutch better contact as the spark will jump 15-20mm whitout problems.

Take it easy 8)
You try to repair it right, I never done it, but for that I think you should open the box and solder it.
If you can't ask Taff for the repair

today i had a husaberg 550 it had the same sem system and tryed my stator and cdi on it and it worked fine then we tryed his stator and cdi on mine ... still no rev an we have now done all we can think of exept chage the jettings in the carb.

the sparkplug getts black but not wet when i rev it as high as itt wil go and that is now about 4500-5000 rpm

befor i fixed the screw in the coil it was about half of that (2000-2500rpm)

so finaly i think al of you that have toled me to clean the carb are right .

atleast i hope so.

thanx for the help everyone!

Maybe you have a bit of a problem here and a bit of the problem there.

When you add all of those bits, you have a big problem.

Hang in there

mansa,
an intriguing post, which is exactly the sort I like!

If this were my bike I'd be looking to see if the sparks were always present during the misfire. Never mind the ignition timing for the moment, is there always a spark, or does it start to disappear? Use your strobe light. If it starts to flash irregularly when you try to rev your engine, that will confirm your problem is ignition. If it continues to flash without any missing sparks, then consider the igition timing more closely. What happens? Does it advance and ****** erratically? If it does you need to look deeper at the ignition. If it doesn't, the probelm is more likely to be fuelling related. If the carb has already been stripped, cleaned, checked and pronounced to be OK, let's stick with the assumption the problem is ignition...

I see your note on your CDI and stator working well on another bike. This is excellent and of course eliminates these components from the problem, but you say nothing about your flywheel. If there's any possibility of swaping your flywheel to your friend's bike, do it. If not, consider the strength of the individual magnets; are they all present and correct and all of similar strength?

If that gets you nowhere, could you give us more background to the problem? When did it occur? Under what circumstances? Has the bike ever run correctly? What is the general condition of the wiring and connectors on the bike? Any extra detail you can give may help with the diagnosis, and ultimately, the cure.

Sorry for all the questions, but the detail always matters with problems like these!

Cheers... P

zaga,
life's a bit busy these days... even more than it was last year! Before yesterday I hadn't even looked at the site for close on six months.
All going well for you?

My 'berg is a bit ill at the moment. A big and sudden oil leak last weekend has resulted in a top-end rattle. Looks like it could be time for an engine strip and rebuild. It has more than 300hrs on it since the last rebuild, so I guess I should be happy. Now I just need to find the time...

Cheers... P

Gone a send you one mail.

okey

i puled down the bike in peaces and cleand and cheked all on it.

Now i found the issue whith the problem it was a bad spark cable and a bad ground contact

after i fixed that i got the bike to run perfect for aprox 5 minuts then the same problem came back.

so i started of by mesuring the stator for the hundred time and this time it wasnt not god i think...

now ther are no bad wiers and the stator puts out 182volts (red + black) when its at the higest rev it wil make now (aprox 1500-2000 rpm .

but at the same rpm the pickup is only 4,2volts this shuld be the duble or am i wrong?

my berg is realy going on my nervs but it will for sure be in good condition when i get it to run as it shuld considering that iv changed many things and cheked everything

the sparkplug is perfeckt colur when iv had the bike standing on idle for a litle time but as soon as i try to rev it the sparkplug gets black and bad .. so it is getting fuel.

Does your bike exhibit these same symptoms when you are out riding on the trail? My old Husaberg would do the same thing on the stand but otherwise ran just fine out on the trail or road.

Hello!
New owner of the husa 03 that wont rev. ME!
I have orderd a HPI cdi to it directly from HPI. Manas fix of the broken screw to the ignition cabel was no good. I also think the CDI have gone bad and changes the timing advance to much/to fast. A fresh CDI made for this stator should do the job.
Also orderd all "easy startparts" from Taffmeister. Whant my starter to start working to save my legs when it backfires. think there is some carb problems to but right now it wont start at all so i must fix the bad sparkproblem first. How many magnets should it be in the rotor? I have 4 on one side. Is this ok?
This bike have the kehin carb (from 04 i think). Anyone have any good settings for this carb? Dont know if the lack of tps in my cdi will make my life a living pain or not but i hope this will work. I´ve been told that this carb is better then the dellorto. The parts should arive during next week. Wish me the best of luck.

Thanks /John

Hi
You can't use the TPS on the SEM ignition, you might just take it out.
You can make one cover [attachment=0:2t5dirpm]TPS_cover.jpg[/attachment:2t5dirpm]

OK guys. It pures like a kitten. Just switched the CDI and adjusted the timing. Now i revs fine. Bought an aftermarket kit from hpi.be (Manufactures electrexs stators) and i must say it worked fine. The schematics on their website sucked and didnt match whit the colors on the cdi but it matched the colors on the original system on the bike.
It misses on the top rpms so i´l haft to back the timing of just a little bit.
Thanks for all help.
Is there any things to think about when i buy a new regualtor? Is the use of all three wires necesery??
