Oh wow, that's terrible. I hope the surgeries go well and he begins his road back to recovery soon!

hope he gets well soon.

saw the pic of the bike and thought "£$%^"

Here's to a speedy recovery and living to ride another day. We all take a chance when re ride and it slaps when you see someone get hurt. All the best from California! May the road to recovery be short and smooth.

I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Get well soon Bergerwiththelot

You're not the only aussie rider down and out:
Chad Reed
Torn his anterior cruciate ligament, broken his tibia and fibula, sustained two broken ribs and has a broken vertebra

Get well and on the bike again asap.
Had e knee injury and operation few months ago so i know how it feels.
Regards
Jampe

sorry for your pain buddy, but you can be fixed just like ur bike bud .just stay focused on doing what the doctors tell u (do not listen if they are saying never ride again). it is a long road but well worth it ,ive had a full hip replacement ( 4months ago & r now riding my berg again & my fireblade) keep ur chin up & watch plenty of ur fav videos buddy regards berglar

Hey, thankyou all for wishing me well.
I'm getting a bit wrestless and I'm only a couple of weeks in but that's natural I guess. The pain is taking some keeping top of as well but I can't complain too much as I'm alive and its no where near as bad as it was for the two hours i was waiting for the chopper. It was insane how thick the forrest was where they landed....gun chopper pilot and gun paramedics looking after me which i was very appreciative of. When those guys turned up I knew then that it would all be ok.
Below where my femur compounded the bone was smashed all the way into the joint which complicates the recovery. I have 6 weeks with no movement to try and get the ACL and PCL to knit and then 3 months minimum before any weight bearing. It will be a bit of a long road but I'm up for it! Hopefully I will be able to start swimming soon it will be good to get some sort of exercise in.
Funny how many people have asked if the bike is for sale.....non of them are riders of course. Speaking of the bike pretty sure I'm only up for Tripple clamps, stem set, and headers. I will check the fork tubes but they look ok. Does anyone know what KTM tripple clamps are compatable?? and are the 08 550s the same offset?
Thanks Again.
Joel

Nice to hear you are well. Chopper ride was awesome for sure. A long portage and ambulance ride? Not so much.

You'll have to lower your bike with shorter springs and 17" motard wheels. Fit a wide car tire in the rear and you're
golden!

You'd prolly close the heavy metal thread on ADV if you posted those pics. My gut hurt looking at that before pic.

Hope you can hobble around soon!
